I also believe Darvocet is useless. I buy an OTC med called Percogesic. I

always have to ask for it at a drug store. For some reason, they don't usually

carry it, but it is great. I now go to a pain clinic that is pretty liberal

with the meds. I started on Tylenol 3, I believe. I have gone through Lortab

and am now on the 7.5 Percocets. They prescribe enough for me to take 4 a day

if I need it. I recently moved farther away from my pain clinic, but I drive

there anyway. It took too many years to find them!

Wow! you guys must not have much pain.

Neurontin is very effective in combination with Fentanyl patches.

I have recently cut out Oxycontin in favor of a larger patch, which

really works well. I have been able to reduce Nortriptyline, which

destroys one's libido and causes sleep problems, by 1/3.

I also use marijuana which is available here in California, as it is

very good at fighting my neuropathic pain.

Hey !

I pesonally think I have developed a high tolerance to pain. Twenty years ago, a

doctor verified that I had been walking on a broken foot for a month! It could

also be that not only are my motor neurons damaged, but, my sensory nerves may

not be carrying all the pain info back to my brain! Some things are very painful

though, like cold.

Jim,

So sorry to hear about your pain. Doctors always jump to the conclusion that

it's cancer because they often don't believe it's curable I think. But certainly

we cancer survivors never have headaches, We have BRAIN TUMORS. Meaning that

whenever we get a pain or lump, OF COURSE, we think tumor.

I would trust your gut instincts and let the doctor freak out about it until you

get the results. Of course, easier said then done.  Back in 2006, I threw up

violently on the biopsy table. They thought I had a brain tumor. It came back

negative. I also have a client who had an ultra-sound recently. A large mass 4.5

x 3.6 was in her kidney (we thought). An MRI ruled it out.

It is natural for everyone to jump to TUMORS as we have a serious disease we

have to monitor for the rest of our lives.

Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers on this website. I am rooting for

you. Keep us informed.

Sincerely,

For the first time in my 1 year alternative struggle against cancer, I have

pain. At times, debilitating pain.

The pain sets in from 5 minutes to 1 hour after I eat. It does not seem to be

fat related, so I don't think it is a gall bladder issue. In fact, yesterday, I

ate an avacado and sprout sandwich, and downed a fistful of various supplements

and herbs (including some powerful herbs) and there was much much much less pain

with the avacado sandwich than with an oil-free vegetable soup I had six hours

later (carrots, peas, celery, potatoes, beans, bell, red, and yellow peppers,

and various seasonings) with which I had no supplements.

The pain started hitting me 3 1/2 weeks ago at the exact same time my wife and

son and I all got some sort of intestinal bug. But theirs cleared up in 4 days

and mine is going on into its 4th week.

The pain often centers around the small of the back and in the groin. Other

times it seems to creep up both hip bones. Sometimes it seems to migrate to the

kidney areas. Rarely it goes above the navel.

I've tried aloe, colloidal silver, and grapefruit seed extract (GSE) to try to

sooth any hot spots or kill any pathogens. I've tried a lot of probiotics.

Nothing seems to help.

I went to the doctor a few days ago (internal surgeon) -- an appointment I

scheduled weeks ago before the pain. The intention was to have the doctor check

out a lump in my groin. He did -- it is a hernia. I also have a golf ball sized

hernia around my navel from an operation incision.

The doctor seemed very irritated at me for not doing chemo and radiation, and I

don't know if this colored what he had to say. He said the pain was undoubtedly

due to a blockage of the small intestine, probably caused by a tumor. However,

he made this speculation based purely on my description of my symptoms, and not

a physical exam.

This seems a bit suspicious to me for the following reasons:

The symptoms came on very suddenly, even though they have not abated in almost 4

weeks. Why whould they come on suddenly if there was a tumor problem?

An online search shows that 95% of all small intestine blockages are caused by

either scar tissue adhesions or HERNIAS. I have 2 hernias. (I have also had two

major surgeries with huge incisions). But the doctor said that hernias rarely

cause pain. Why would he lie so blatantly about this? (Actually he said MY

hernias would not be causing pain -- but he didn't even look at them except with

the briefest glance and a slight touch).

Besides -- Outside of the pain, I don't seem to have a blockage -- I am passing

okay. And the pain has come on with my intestines completely empty. I did a gall

bladder flush 2 weeks ago in which my intestines were so clean it was unreal --

just water was coming out. And yet the pain was still there. How could this pain

be caused by a blockage if my intestines were completely empty and there was

still pain?

What scares me is the idea of a tumor pressing against the spine, and when the

intestines get in a certain position, with food or not, they cause the tumor to

press harder against nerves.

I need suggestions for getting rid of the pain. I'd like to continue on low dose

naltrexone, which would me I should probably not take opiates, I would think.

What else works for really bad pain?

Jim,

Have you tried Gerson style coffee enemas?

Lie on your right side.

Brewed organic coffee.

Insert in anus.

Hold for 15 minutes.

Massage clockwise.

Release.

Should relieve you of pain.

Best wishes,

Edwin

Menadione, DLPA, slippery elm, and rife are mentioned here before as good pain

Do I need to do a clear enema first to flush out the intestine?

I've avoided coffee enemas thinking I needed to do a clear enema first, and

those take me up to an hour to get all the water in and then expel it all.

DLPA makes me really hyper and aggressive. I read somewhere once that only the

" D " form is the pain killer. Is this true?

Jim,

When my wife came back from surgery, they gave her a pain killer that was so

strong that an allergic reaction got her very sick...

So I went to buy some marijuana..it was her first time!!... and God does it

work!! We watched all day some funny movies and she laughed for hours !! She

loved it.!!

I guess this experience had released some blocked energies because her pains

never came back.

I am a strong believer of the power of laughter to boost the immune system and

also to fight pain. Every day she will watch at least one hour of funny clips on

Youtube before going to bed.. after this bath of happy molecules she will sleep,

all night like a baby giving a chance to her Mind and body to heal.

A very good book on the subject of pain and laughter :

" Anatomy of a Illness by Norman Cousin " Check his incredible story :-)

I am searching for the Gerson's coffee enema protocol for you. It is very good

for pain.

Jim,

Make sure you are fully hydrated, you juice your veggies / fruits for

super nutrition / raw fats / raw liver or whatever nutritional stuff you

do. This is the foundation for recovery.

You only need to clear the intestines if you have a lot of built up

fecal matter, if you have never done a colon cleanse. Just do this

clear enema once.

Once cleared, you can do coffee enemas 2x a day.

The logic is the coffee enemas reach out to your liver which has piled

up poisons in it, the coffee opens it up, unloads the toxic stuff, you

expel canal smelly stuff... which was causing you pain.

Maybe this story will inspire you...

I am just guessing but could the pain be coming from the pancreas? Turmeric is

very good for your pancreas which would explain why when you ate a solid but

took the herbs you have less pain then when drinking the soup? Just a wild guess

as I had panreatitis sp? and man was that the worst pain (other than childbirth)

I have ever had.

Could pancreatitis last 3-4 weeks? If so, will it go away on its own?

Would it interfere with digestion? Would avacados make it feel better?

Hi Jim,

I just read that you are having a lot of pain.  If you ever want to try EFT

(Emotional Freedom Techniques) please don't hesitate to call me and we can do a

phone session.  Quite often this technique can alleviate the pain in minutes.  I

I am taking a stab in the dark because it reminds me of my symptoms but you are

not a prime candidate I would think. Anyway the easiest way to heal the pancreas

is a short fast. Only liquids. Turmeric will help produce bile and heal faster

also.

And yes it can last weeks or more progressively getting worse. Usually a 24 to

48 hour break from solids will work. Avacado might not make it better but I

think the turmeric will. That is why I asked what herbs you were taking when you

ate the avacado. Turmeric will help the pancreas digest what you eat making it

have to work less.

Marijuana and pain. You can also prepare a powerful rubbing alcohol with

marijuana. I learn this from old Cubans playing dominos at the coffee shop. ( I

live in Florida ).

That the way they do it. Take some rubbing alcohol, put it in a glass bottle

with marijuana and leave it for a month in the ground. That what they've being

using in Cuba against pain . The bottle had to be in the ground.. don't ask me

why :-)

The following are the things that I’m confident are PARTICULARLY EFFECTIVE for

pain relief:

“DLPA [DL-phenylalanine]…75% of the time it works as well as

morphine....DLPA can be picked up at the many/most vitamin stores. Usual dose

is about 3 grams per day until pain is gone….slows the catabolism of the

body's endorphins. Once management is achieved modulate at about 500mg per

day.†( Gammill, 7/26/04). According to Dr. Earl

Hi Jan,I'm sorry you are experiencing pain.  You might want to start over at a lower dose, say1.5 mg and build up to a higher dose over a month or two.JacoFrom: Jan Goodale <jmn@...>Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Painlow dose naltrexone Date: Saturday, April 25, 2009, 8:50 PM

I am taking LDN 4.5 at 10 pm and started 4 nites ago.  nite before last it worked great, last nite I didnt get to sleep at all and was terrible pain - which has continued through this day.  I dont have any opiate drugs I am taking, so i am wondering what could be going on.

I AM taking a supplement called 5HTP, which raises serotonin levels, like an antidepressant does. I take 400 mg. divided into 100 mg. 4 times/day.  Is it possible this could be doing something that would cause this reaction?

Would appreciate any comments re: this problem.

Thanks, Jaco. Someone also suggested I skip a nite. I dont know how soon I could get the lower dose, so in the meantime I may try the skip? or maybe I can empty some out of the capsule?

My pain increases significantly during certain weather patterns. Did your area

have rain coming in, high humidity?

Hi Bren and everybody,

I am wishing everyone good luck and farewell - I am off the LDN and back on the FMS protocol. when the 5th nite came and I took LDN, and it finally gave me some relief - 2 hours - I decided this is not for me. But I am glad for those of you who are using this successfully for FMS.

i HAVE tried before, and was hopeful this time it would work for me, but can't handle it any longer and will be back on my old FMS stuff. drugs for pain and sleep.

Hi Jan,

I am on my 6th night too, and I am going to push through it for a full month

(fibromyalgia and transverse myelitis).

I had a little bit better sleep tonight, so I am hoping that I am about to turn

the corner. The pain is awful, but I am hoping that is an initial reaction to

it.

The last time you tried, how long did you give it?

Also, I am only on 1.5mg, and i noticed you were on the full dose. Did you try

ramping up before?
