Guest guest
Hi Karine, It stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction. It is the most sensitive test they do for CML. Once the FISH test shows Zero, they switch to the PCR test. BTW, FISH stands for Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization. It’s a good thing there is no test after this. Ask them for a copy of the results. My mother just had her first fish test done and we are to get the results next week. Also, do you guys have any questions I should be asking when we obtain the results. Guest guest
Hi Karine - You will find a lot of helpful information at the following link, including questions your mother and you should be asking when you get the results. Hope this helps! http://www.webmd.com/cancer/cml-treatment-10/when-you-have-chronic-cml?page=1 Pat in Phoenix > > > > Hi Tammi, > > > > > > > > Has your doctor done a serum level test on Randy? Get a copy of the results for your own records. Ask the doctor what kind of change this shows over what period of time, to get a sense of how well she is responding with the medication. The results of FISH are also giving in %.....so if she was 100% at dx based on the bmb..........then you can see what % she is now from the FISH test. C. Guest guest
, Thanks for the information. She did have an initial bmb done but I didn't even think about getting a copy and looking at the percentage of the cml cells. Trust me I will get those results and the fish results next thursday at our appt. I will also have my list of questions. Thanks again!
