Guest guest
It has recently come to my attention that if you are on a salt free diet, you need to be careful about which products you use as an additive. I am on a renal diet, so all salt substitutes are not the same, and if you take the wrong one, you could be doing even more damage to your kidneys. " People with kidney problems or who are taking certain medications should not use potassium chloride, so please speak with your physician before sprinkling this type of salt substitute on your food in case you need to limit your intake of potassium. Other salt substitutes (such as Mrs. Dash) do not contain potassium chloride. These products are simply salt-free blends of different herbs and seasonings that add flavor to your food. Salt-free seasoning blends that do not contain potassium chloride are safe for everyone to enjoy (if your physician has instructed you to limit your potassium intake, always double-check the ingredients list to make sure there is no added potassium chloride, just to be sure). " Don't assume that your symptoms are due to IBS unless your doctor has told you so. You need to get a thorough medical workup to rule out other, more serious diseases, including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, and colorectal cancer. Even if you've had a diagnosis of IBS, be sure to go back to your doctor if your symptoms change or worsen. " The healthiest of fats for people with arthritis or other inflammatory disorders are omega-3 fats. While other foods increase levels of inflammation in the body, omega-3s actually work to decrease inflammation by suppressing the production of enzymes that erode cartilage. A host of studies have demonstrated that omega-3 fish oils can reduce symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Study participants reported greater strength, less fatigue, reduced joint swelling and tenderness, less joint stiffness, and less overall pain. The best foods for omega-3 fatty acids are salmon (wild, fresh or canned), herring, mackerel (not king), sardines, anchovies, rainbow trout, Pacific oysters, flaxseeds (ground and oil), chia seeds, and walnuts. " (Check with your doctor, you may not be able to eat nuts because of high potassium serum levels.) Glycolic acid maybe good for older skin but it is harmful on younger skin. You should choose instead eye creams that moisturize the skin under your eyes. 2) Avoid buying heavy eye wrinkle creams considering that it has the tendency to be absorbed by the other parts of your face causing acne. And you know that acne is for the young as a wrinkle is for the old. 3) Avoid buying eye creams with useless ingredients, those that cannot actually penetrate the skin, because of its high molecular weight as it could not be used by the skin. http://tinyurl.com/26umysx _______________________ I didn't know this before now, but if your doctor prescribes Hydrocodone, it has the same ingredients as Tylenol plus codeine and some need to be aware that is is processed through the liver as well as our cancer meds. They gave me this in the hospital, in fact, they had me on that and Oxycontinane, as well as Dilaudid. I was so bombed out, I didn't know where I was, so the doctor ordered home health care to come and sort out my meds. It is scary because when you are in the hospital and on drugs, you can't always speak up and say what you are already taking. They have an up-to-date history of all my meds when I enter the hospital. I carry one in my purse and it is 2 pages long, so they can miss something. What is Vicodin (Acetaminophen Hydrocodone)? Hydrocodone is in a group of drugs called narcotic pain relievers. Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of hydrocodone. The combination of acetaminophen and hydrocodone is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Acetaminophen and hydrocodone may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide. http://www.everydayhealth.com/drugs/vicodin ________________________ I also remember being on Methadone for pain.
