Guest guest
I read that she declined to have a colostomy although her docs had recommended it. I've thought about that a lot. I respect the right of everyone who has cancer to make the choices that feel right to them. But I wondered what I would do. It wouldn't be any picnic, but I think I would owe it to my kids to go for it. It does seem as though she suffered just terribly. She had plenty of guts to be as public as she was and to allow herself to be filmed in the worst of times. She was obviously made of strong stuff. Guest guest
I agree she was a hard fighter. But DID stand by her in the end. How many CML patients' spouses leave them after diagnosis, never to return? I've heard several mentioned on these CML lists. BTW, having a drug addiction problem, including alcoholism, does not disqualify one from the human race or exempt one from our compassion. ________________________________ From: Lottie Duthu <lotajam@...> CML < > Sent: Sat, October 16, 2010 9:10:06 PM Subject: [ ] - Again Carl, you are right, but Farah reached out to him first, because he had CML before she had cancer, didn't she? It wasn't meant for them to be together. I think everyone wanted it that way, but they couldn't work out their problems. He and his children were into drugs and their son is in jail still. It's all so sad and I felt worse for Farah because she suffered more from her cancer and traveling to France for radiation treatments I heard were so hard on her physically. She put up a big front, so I really admired her for her spirit. Lottie
