Lottie, I thought I had read some place they were creating artificial stem

cells, but as no one brought it up I thought I may have imagined it? This will

also be a controversial subject,

as there is as much to be said against it as for it. Life as you and I know it

is long gone, we are so into the " future " I can't comprehend it. I still can't

believe we have surpassed " Flash Gordon " , let alone create life!!

The ink is dry on this article, but I just read it in my newspaper today, but I

wanted to share it because it is at the heart of our current debate on stem

cells. Production of artifical stem cells could make human therapy easier.

According to the article I found in today's paper, Scripps Research Cener in San

Diego makes embroyonic stem cells. In 2009 the Chinese were first to introduce

cells from pigs to transform into pluripotent stem cells. Yes, you heard it

right - China. Scripps Research Center in San Diego has taken it one step

further and now can manufacture stem cells SAFER than human embryonic stem

cells. Are we all on the same page here folks?

The adult cells are regressed back to the embryonic-like state. It's like " beam

me up y. " I could not believe what I was reading, but it only takes one

word or a number to start me off on my mission. All of the rhetoric we have

been dialogueing about does not come near this information, I don't think so

anyway. This information restores a small scentilla of respect for human life

for those who object to using human embryomic cells. I think this is a feel

good moment for me, because everybody is right, this is something for both sides

of the ethical problem. More information has developed:

" Stem cells are " ancestral " cells that can develop into many types of cells in

the body. Embryonic stem cells can transform into nearly any kind of cell,

making them of particular interest for disease therapy. " As imbecyllic as I am,

on the surface without going into scientific detail, I actually understood that.

It's all here for you to explore for yourself:

Hope you all had a nice day today and have an even better one tomorrow,
