I am doing a lot of reading and research as to why one does get RA - so going along with your question, I believe stress does have a factor but maybe even more than that is diet. I have read a lot about "leaky gut" syndrome. Have you all heard of it? It's discussed in the books that talk about RA and natural treatments and the books that talk about medical physician treatments. It's pretty well agreed upon that diet and leaky gut and also hormones are a major factor in RA. I think that was my problem for sure. I'm actually very healthy - not stressed about anything unusual - but I am 44, in perimenopause quite heavily, and probably have not had a habit of eating the best. My hubby and I are going to try to really study the diet side of things and see if we can help me that way. Has anyone read "The Maker's Diet" by Jordan Rubin?

Last October I started eating healthy to lose weight.

I am eating better now than I have in years.

And now I am having an RA flare.

Just goes to show you, RA has a mind of its own. Like a teenager, LOL, can't control them either.

Hugs,

Jacy

Jacy,

I really think diet has a lot to do with RA flares...Do you stay away from sugar and milk?? What about wheat?? Also agree that stress can do it, too.

Hi Kay,

I avoid white refined sugar and flour. I do have some milk occasionally and have some dairy every day. I also avoid red meat most of the time. I rarely eat wheat but I do have some. I eat a lot of salad, raw veggies, fresh fruit, fish, chicken and different cheeses.

Kathy,

My doc has been helping me with the leaky gut problem. Yes, I believe it has a lot to do with RA. The intestinal wall gets holes in it from poor diet, medicine, etc.

I have taken different things to help. Of course, you must also be careful what you eat to let the walls heal properly and not keep making more holes.

I am happy to be off most of the drugs now. Still very restricted diet. I had started Antibiotic therapy when I found the alternative doc who helped me so much. I had very poor eating habits when I came down with RA.

I've heard about it and that for some people RA can be controlled quite well

with diet and no medication. However, I think there are a lot of different

types of RA and not all of them respond to any single treatment. That's why a

drug is effective for some people but not others. The same thing applies to

diets. Treating RA is a trial and error thing. God bless.

Oh how I wish it were that simple. This question has haunted me since yesterday. Am I doing enough? Truly what will it take to take our country back from the polities? For those of us who see where the world is headed, what will it take to change direction? Is it truly ok to sit back and wait for the Creator to fix it?

--There are not enough enlightened souls on the planet for war to

discontinue. Look at your personal life,(home, work, school etc.)and

notice how many people are more than happy to war for selfish reasons.

There are just far too many " low vibe humans " in the mix, but this is

about to change in the next few years, as many of these souls die off

due to incompatibility with a " higher vibe (ascending) planet " .

This twisted sister has to put her two cents worth in as well. As much as we all are finding this war to be horrendous. As much as WE want Peace. Are we imposing Our will? Isn't this battle truly a battle between light and dark? From our hearts we find this war senseless. Where does Gods Will find its way in this? Action taken by Peace walks and talks...maybe someday someone will hear us. Are we responsible in awakening others to our thoughts and prayers? Just some questions and food for thought. Blessings, Peace

Hello Everyone,I would just like to take a moment out of this thread on 'why'  we allow this war to continue....to welcome a friend that I have known from another list....who has joined us here at Humanity Healing.  Welcome, Tom!!  I am so glad that you're here, and that you have joined this amazing list.  I would also like to extend a welcome to everyone else who has recently joined.....as we are all family here, and I welcome you with one of my favorite sayings:There are no strangers here; only family you haven't met yet.(at least in this lifetime!)So welcome all! Many blessings,On May 11, 2008, at 1:57 PM, tom wrote:--There are not enough enlightened souls on the planet for war to discontinue. Think on this please.... Nothing can exist without an opposite. Even something as grand as Heaven cannot exist without a hell. Light/dark. Love/hate. It is the endless cycle of existance and the universe. It is beyond putting fully into words as to the supreme "why" persona but in a twisted sentence, I will say; without war, aggression and hatred, we would have no idea how it feels to be happy or know joy, peace and tranquility. There is a purpose for everything and so much we simply cannot understand yet. I also am a student, just as you (smile). Be grateful for what you have, remember those who have less. When you are smiling, someone else is crying. When you are hungey, someone is full. It is a train of endless examples. We live, we learn. Warmth and Light, Randy
