Guest guest
Yes, my reason for being off Gleevec is because that is the only way we could maintain my blood counts, Good question about CML being at bay or asleep. The Dr. seems to think that my body is maintaining the counts but we really don't know. We started by testing monthly to be sure I would not begin a blast phase and we have now extended the tests to six months. Right now the count increase is maintaining about a .001 increase so the math says that I will be back on something in about 3 years. My history is pretty much covered below. I did have some pill the month I was preparing for Gleevec. My ONC wanted my WBC to be below 40,000 when I started Gleevec. Great results overall. I did increase to .0468% but we are working with a threshold of 1% before I return to any medication. I will do it all over in Feb. 2011. Next month is my 2 ½ year university starting this vacation from Gleevec. > > > > H. > > ______________________________ > > Amazingly good results . > Just out of curiosity, were you even on Interferon? actually I just erased your cml history which would have probably told me. > > Seems like you are one of the people who has a functional cure on Gleevec???? Your body alone is now keeping the cml cells at bay, or they are sound asleep (all quiescent). > > I assume that you went off drug because of side effect issues? maybe low blood counts. Maybe you could recap your whole history for us. > > C. >
