Guest guest
Skip is a inspiration to all CML patients. Does not matter if they are newbies or those of us who have had CML for quite awhile. I have read Skip's history, and I love the picture of him. That beautiful smile, just tells you so much about the man himself. So true IF YOU THINK YOUR SICK YOU WILL BE SICK!! I have had days where I started out with all the fatigue and cramping and everything else that goes with our CML and treatment. plus all the other ailments that I deal with on a daily basis. I have found if I push myself to do things, it gets better as the day goes on. It is definitely better for you physically and mentally. I have met people who have CML, who are not on the boards but not knowing what to expect. I tell them how Skip has fought this battle for over 33 years, and what a warrior he is. He does not really know me like he does so many others, but I know him from his postings. If you are reading this Skip, just know that your always in my prayers that you continue to do better each day. A. From: Lottie Duthu <lotajam@...> Subject: [ ] Skip Duffie's Career " CML " < > Date: Thursday, October 14, 2010, 3:27 AM  If any of you have wondered what Skip has done all these years since he was diagnosed with CML, there is an article about him in the Leukemia and Lymphoma of Canada's newsletter the " Source " , this will give you a bird's eye view, as it is not all of his accomplishments, but he doesn't like to draw attention to himself. He has stayed active in several organizations as you can see from the Newsletter and I'm sure you will get to know Skip a little better. He recently told us about dropping one log, which is fantastic, considering his past record all of these 33 plus years. His problems are Thrombocytopenia: when platelet levels are lower than normal, Neutropenia: when white blood cell levels are lower than normal , leukopenia, (also known as leukocytopenia). Anyone who can manage all of that is superman to me. Go to the website and give him a salute for his service time, he earned it. I hope I am not embarrassing him, but we have someone in our midst who stands out in the crowd and he has chosen the group to become a member of. (He also does geneology>) Carpe Diem and Salut, Skip, Lottie Duthu http://cmlsource.ca/en/personalities/10-stewart-duffie
