Have You Read This Book?

Dr. Ioannidis has spent his career challenging his peers by exposing their

" bad science " . He’s what’s known as a meta-researcher, and he’s become one of

the world’s foremost experts on the credibility of medical research. I was

wondering if anyone had read this book, LIES, AND DAMNED LIES by Dr. Ioannidis.

He claims that a lot of medical claims are myths and their data is compared to

another drug, allowing drug companies to manipulate published research to make

their drugs look good. There is an article published in the Atlantic Magazine

and reviewed by writer, Freedman.

If anyone has read it or heard about it, perhaps you would share what you

thought of his work; Dr. Ioannidis, that is. This doctor is Adjunct Professor of

Medicine at Tufts Medical Center for Research. There are 2 citations here if you

Have not read that one, but if you buy from Amazon or most bookstores, you can return it if isn't the book you need. I do understand your feeling that way--I'm developing quite the library myself. ;-0 MarilynFrom: gribbles06

It's not available at the local library, and I don't want to purchase another book that doesn't benefit our family.
