Guest guest
Oh Pat, who didn't love that movie, LOVE STORY, and it's 40 years old - rather timeless. It certainly is ironic that O'Neal ended up with CML. I read the story of the woman whom the book was about. She didn't have CML and she didn't marry the author, but someone else and had a lovely family. She has come forth to say that she is the person the book was written about and the character playing the part in dying was his way of letting the romance die, too. Very interesting article. Here's the real " " story: http://tinyurl.com/ Too bad that turned out to be a cad in my estimation. He claimed that Farah was the love of his life, but they didn't get back together until he came down with CML and I think she went to help him get through it and when she contracted anal cancer, he was there, but she had an old college boyfriend that she had been seeing, a man whom refused to allow to come to her funeral. I don't know how he could do that legally, they were never legally married. After all that transpired, people thought she would leave her money to and she didn't. Farrah reportedly updated her will in 2007, and left everything to her son, Redmond, which was worth approximately $5.5 million dollars at that time, a paltry sum. LOL. According to British tabloid the Mail, " Farrah appointed two trustees to make sure the money supports her son's journey into sobriety rather than giving him the means to destroy himself. Redmond's inheritance will be tightly controlled. " could be a powerful force to enlighten people about CML, but he seems to not be interested in pursuing that avenue. When I first saw his picture after he was diagnosed, my first impression was that he had a " Gleevec " face. I saw his daughter on TV and she flipplantly said he was " cured " . He said he was " cured " in interview, too, but has to take Gleevec every day of his life. How misinformed he is and if he belonged to a support group, such as this one, he would know a heck of a lot more. I asked my home health nurse to bring me a copy of my last week's CBC, but she forgot to give it to me, but while I had her on the phone, I asked what my wbc was and she said it was only 6.1 and the other counts looked good as well. I have a guest here (my son's dog) and we started talking about dogs and she forgot to give the the whole report. I guess the real story will be when I get my BMB next month. They will surely want that info as I start a new trial. They stopped just short of doing it at my last visit because they found out the contracts were not ready, so here I am, CML drug free since the end of April. Eat your hearts out. LOL Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu
