Guest guest
Dear Virginia, Thank you so much for sharing that with us. It just shows that with persistence some things either go away or get better than they were before. I hope they don't take me off Ariad again because of low platelets like they did with SKI 606. There is some good news out about SKI now, too. If Ariad does not work, it will be years before the SKI is approved by FDA, so either way, it is a crap shoot for me. I had the worst case of hives with SKI, and even with the prednisone for months, it hung in there for a long time. Now the ring worms are coming back and it has to be the Ariad, because they went away when I was off. Your history is a case in point, that with patience and resolve a lot of things can be overcome. You are so right about INF, the rest is small potatoes. May I ask how you get your Procrit? I was given it by & , but then my counts went up a point or two, to where I didn't qualify for it. When I was diagnosed with acute renal failure, I was told I could get the Gleevec through Medicare, but they said I didn't need it. I felt so much better on Procrit than getting the transfusions, but I haven't had it in months. I take B 12 and D 3 as well. Does anyone remember getting cod liver oil from a big brown bottle shaped like a fish? I wish I had one of those bottles today. I love colored glass, among another things I " collect " . Jimmy calls it " junk " . I gave some pieces to my grandson's wife after they married because she collects colored glass pieces. Now they are getting a divorce and she has my glass pieces. Well I can't ask for them back, because they were a gift, but if she had any hudzpah, she would return them. I gave him an antique piece (not colored glass) and reminded him of it and he asked for it and she gave it to him, so now I don't feel so bad about her lack of hudzpah. LOL. I have anemia, too and that is something we all need to worry about. I wash my hands often, even when I get up during the night to check my plumbing. You are getting around so well, working and raising money for LLS and I think that is great, that is really good hudzpah. LOL May we all live to be in the Guiness Book of Records, along with Skip. How do you nominate someone to be in their book, I am really serious about getting him in there. Well I looked it up and they do not have awards for cancer patients, because there are too many kinds of cancer is their reasoning. Well he is in our book and our hearts. Go Skip, and you, too Virginia. Stay well and keep running, Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu
