Guest guest
, I'm so glad that you were able to get out for a few days! It sounds like it really gave you a boost. I think I will try to take the advice of others here as well, and record my small accomplishments, so that 2-3 months down the line I will hopefully be able to read it and see that I really am moving along with recovery. All of you guys are so full of good tips on how to get through this surgery - it's really been a huge help for me! > > Hi, > I just read the responses to my earlier message thank you > , and Bonnie for the helpful tips. > I have not set up the appointment yet for psych or therpist, I will > do it Monday when the open. > The reason why is after I wrote my message, I started crying and I > told Ronnie I just want to get away I feel so cooped up in the house > (I have always been an active person) I have been inside since May > 18th and before the surgery I was in so much pain I didn't do > anything then either so basically I feel I have been cooped up since > October of 2006. > So anyways we our hurting finacilly so going somewhere was going to > be hard to do......but I was able to get some money and talk Ronnie > in to going to VA beach (its about 3 hours away) for a couple of > days. Guest guest
Bee, Thank you again for responding. I do want to try the egg drink. I will see how my gall bladder handles it. Guest guest
, Also, Bee's Egg Drink will stablize your blood sugar so much better than soymilk does. I had terrible Hypoglycemia and eating the proper ratios ( http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php ) and drinking Bee's Egg Drink for a snack made my blood sugar rock solid. Guest guest
Thank you Lilac for your encouragement. Guest guest
Amazing News Gloria! Best thing I've heard all day!! Now the next piece of good news is that you're SVR!Lots of Pink Hugs,TeriFrom: Gloria <gadamscan@...> Sent: Thu, June 17, 2010 10:27:39 PMSubject: [ ] Me Again and EveryoneFinally I've got really really good news to share!!Went to my GP today for something really minuscule; but, it gave me the opportunity to get some news that I thought I'd have to wait until the end of the month for. My CT Scan report was there and so I asked what it said!!!!I am CANCER FREE and all my blood tests etc say that I'm normal!! The only other thing the CAT found was a moving Hiatus Hernia which we already knew was probably there and why I'm taking pills for it.I still have to go to Vancouver for a visit with the surgeon and the HepC Clinic; but, at least I know that for now, the cancer is gone!!!!!Now I gotta go and try to build my son's ego back up.Luv Gloria Hi Gloria, Cinder here. LOL Date: Thursday, June 17, 2010, 1:47 AM Well gangI think I finally caught up with all the e-mails and will finish my evening up by catching you all up on my life.Husband and I finally signed Separation Papers today, so I guess it's official now!! I still feel like he backed himself into a corner and can't figure out how to get out of it.. But, I knew last week that I'd finally lost any ounce of respect for him and we had to do this before actual hatred set in...I'm a little bit sad because it was close to 21 yrs together; but, at the same time, I'm looking forward to a new start!!! After fighting through 2 treatments and then being told I had liver cancer, then that operation, I'm just needing a little bit of quiet in my life. However, that couldn't be done in a house where I was looking after a 68 year old little boy who wanted everything his way. I realize now that he desperately wanted out, the minute that cancer was mentioned last fall. He just couldn't bring himself to actually pack and leave, without making it all my fault somehow. To some degree, you almost have to feel sorry for those folks out there that simply can not face someone who is truly sick. I said ALMOST!!!There came a point that I had to warn him that if he tried to belittle my illness one more time, that he would have the BITCH from hell coming down on him and he wouldn't get out with out being emotionally and finacially bruised a whole lot more than I've done. Now he can deal with his self-centred whiny adult children and I sure hope they are prepared to look after their Dad a whole lot more than they know about yet. He can take his angry mood swings to their places and see how long they want to put up with it.So Teri - I understand the terror of packing up!!! This was going to be the year that I wanted to go room by room and dung out all the accumulated junk and have the whole place repainted. I just thought that I would be doing it myself. But, the time line has been sped up and we've hired a repair guy. It means that I will have to get each room ready before he's there to do it. Guess the first thing is - pack up my china cabinet because that got stuff in it, that although is probably not worth much except memories from my family. As far as I'm concerned, that cabinet can then move back down to what used to be my office and sorta set it aside until I know what I want to do with it. Then Bill can replace the kitchen floor with the cermic tile that's been waiting for over a year. After all of that, we are going to list the place for sell and all I can hope for is that some folks will like it really quickly and that it goes quickly. Don't know too many 14' wide mobiles that have an addition that is over 20 x 20, plus a storage room AND a jacuzzi tub, matching sink and a show stall. Plus there is a brand new deck on the front. At the moment, I don't really want the outside gardening shed to go with the place, because I sure will need one for my future place.I want to buy a Motor Home of some kind for myself with the split after we sell. It's always been a dream of mine and when it really only costs $400 per month in the winter to stay here and that includes all the utilities except a phone, how much cheaper can you get??? It'll be just myself and my dog to start with, although at some point I'll probably have to take the old cat as well. So, I'm a actually truly looking forward to all this change!!!By they way, my back and shoulders have been bothering me too lately. In my case, it's probably too much sitting here and working. So, I'm off to bed with the dog now and talk to you all later.Gloria

Guest guest
Gloria, I have all the paperwork filled out for a passport, just need to turn it in and get the pictures taken for it. What I think I'll do is to get the enhance drivers license at least for now. It's much cheaper I'm sure. Going to have to check into it. I've been having pains on my right side under my ribcage and further down closer to my waistline. It's quite painful. Not sure if its coming from my liver, yes I know the liver itself feels no pain. Or if it's my kidney giving me fits. Have a nice weekend everyone. Debbe in Wa. > > > Oh Deb - would I ever love to do that!! > > You know, I have to be in Vancouver on the 30th of June to go to see the surgeon and the HepC Clinic. Firstly, I've never bothered with getting a passport or even the drivers license thing that allows me across. Then, of course, July 1st is a huge holiday in Canada and so I would guess that a whole lot of Canadians will be sitting trying to cross the border, at least at the Peace Arch crossing. > > Oh well, I'm going to check and see how much it is to cross over on the ferry out of a little later in the summer and after I get my drivers license updated. > > Gloria > > > > > ________________________________ > > > >
Guest guest
DebbieIs your liver swollen?? Remember that the more it swells in our bodies, the more it has to push other organs away as well. Do you still have your gallbladder?? The pain could be coming from that perhaps. I actually felt more discomfort from my kidney's than anything else and especially the right one. Since the operation, I can't remember feeling it much anymore.Oh - I quickly checked up about the Enhanced Driver's Licenses and don't believe that it takes very long at all and only costs $35.00. Our driver licenses have already got pictures as it is. Still, I have to laugh about the whole stupid thing!! When my Mom and I drove down to California in 2004, before all this bull, the guards on the US side at that point, already knew who should be driving that car and everything, just from the license plate alone. That's one of the reasons that we Canadians always thought it was funny that we were taking so much flak about suspected terrorists crossing at the borders. To get into the States, it's the US Border Guards that have to let you in, coming back is when the Canadian Guards are checking. > > Gloria > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ __ > > > >
Guest guest
Gloria, It could be swollen...it feels a bit firmer than usual. I still have my gallbladder. I'm thinking I might get the enhanced driver's license myself. If we ever go on another cruise then we'll have to get the passports. Guest guest
LOL - and to think that one of those stupid senators in the south, actually recommended publicly, that a fence should be built between Canada and the northern States. Geez - do ya think the man should perhaps look at a map???Fella was telling me today, that crossing over on one of those walking paths into Mexico was like going for a simple walk in the park. But, coming back was a whole different story!! Truthfully, there are not all that many Canadians that want to run away illegally. Did you know that there are more Americans actually moving here daily than Canadians that even go to visit. All of us Snow Birds love going across the line and especially to the warmer spots and the vast majority of us have no desire for that to change on iota!! I wish the control was that good along the Mexican borders.... That is a mess.Teri From: Gloria <gadamscan (DOT) ca> Sent: Sun, June 20, 2010 1:54:32 AMSubject: Re: [ ] Re: Me Again DebbieIs your liver swollen?? Remember that the more it swells in our bodies, the more it has to push other organs away as well. Do you still have your gallbladder? ? Gloria Gloria, I have all the paperwork filled out for a passport, just need to turn it in and get the pictures taken for it. Guest guest
Hey Lottie, thanks for the vote of confidence - but what do you mean, what I say is USUALLY true? Harrooomph! Back to the CML conference (please stop me when you're bored!), the subject of diet came up. The question was asked, Is there any special food we should be eating? Is there anything we should not be eating? The general opinion from the experts was that the only food to be avoided is grapefruit, because it interferes with Glivec. I have discussed this with the pharmacist I see for my check-ups and she reckons it would be OK to eat a little grapefruit a few hours after taking the Glivec. My own opinion is this: there's an invader attacking your body so you need to be in the best shape possible to deal with the bugger. Therefore I avoid all junk and processed food (don't like it anyway and I think it's a rip-off) and all the food eaten in this house is cooked from raw fresh ingredients! My stepson was visiting once with his little friend. They wanted chips (fries) so I pointed them to the potato box and told them to start peeling. He said to his friend, with some disgust, 'All the food in this house is RAW!' We're not cranks but we like decent food. (I ate a Macdonald's fillet o fish once and I have never, in all my life, tasted anything so disgusting!) Besides, we need something good in our systems to counteract the booze! Cheers!
