Lana-

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis....You are at the right place. This

site is very useful and comforting to talk to people walking the life you are

going thru too. You will get comfort knowing that the side effects you

suffer are also normal with others as well. You are not alone!

The PCRU is detected with the PCR test the doctors do to detect the actual

leukemic levels in the blood, but I will leave that explanation to the pros

on here. When it gets to " u " undetectable, you still have CML its just no

longer detectable with the technologies they have out there thus far. They

will post exactly what you need to know about it. I am curious, if you

are willing to share, your personal journey up to this point. Age, family,

location, how where you diagnosed, etc. Again, welcome to the site and

hope you will continue to stay informed on here.

Best Wishes-

Hello,

I am newly diagnosed Dec 17, 2010. Everything is NEW for me. Your post

are

really helping me more than even my doctor so i truly appreciate it!

My WBC was 32,000 and after 2 weeks of Gleevec are now 10,000. My question

is

what is PCRU exactly? How is that measured?

Thanks,

Lana

Dear Group,

I got some great results from my last PCR to share with all.

I'm still undetectable for 9 months and the last one I did in 2 different

labs (I'm changing insurance).

Ciro - Brazil

Dx 04/2008

Gleevec 400 mg since then
