Guest guest
The last time i visited this group i did not let you in so much. Well i was diagnosed in 2009 october. But i was placed on hydra for a while. I started on 400g glivec in January 2010. I have been on it for a year. Although while i am stable, i do have low pcv of sometimes 28, low platelets of 84. With low Hb. However the wbc count is frequently low, fluctuating between 3.5-5.4. I reported malaria, because it is a problem in Africa. I take care not to be a victim, yet i fell. I will not forget to thank you for fine admonition you gave. Am doing well, but over a year why low pcv, Hb, and platelets? Do anyone suffer same. Still on 400. J. Since I take 800mg of Gleevec, he suggested that I consider taking only 400mg each day. I am a bit hesitant to do this. I had such a hard time for the first couple of years when I was first diagnosed in 2003. It was quite a journey getting to this point. I was on 400mg when first diagnosed, but had to stop for awhile because of elevated liver enzymes. When I went back on Gleevec, I was ph+ for a very long time. Finally I was put on 800mg of Gleevec and eventually tested negative...PCRU. >Has anyone lowered their dose of Gleevec and continued to be PCRU? >I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. >Thanks, >Phyllis >dx 3002 >800mg Gleevec >
