Guest guest
I don´t know if you remember but some months ago I comment here that my mum ,after being PCRU for 7 years, had got her last pcr 0,216 and that I was worried. her doctor told her to stop taking nexium or any protection of that kind, well now 2 months later she is 0,0012. so , it was nexium which was making her getting worse. Guest guest
So glad your Mom is doing better. I do have a question regarding the Nexium. How long was she on the Nexium before her PCR numbers changed? I am in my 8th year now of PCRU, and I have been on Nexium for 10 years. I know this subject has been on the top of the list many times regarding this medication with Gleevec. If I were to have a turn for the worst, I would check into that myself also. I had terrible GERD from the Gleevec, and it seemed like Nexium worked so fast to stop all my discomfort, therefore, I continue to take it. Does your Mom take anything else now, or is she free of using something for GERD now? I would like to switch to another drug, only because of the cost of the Nexium at this point. I would like to know if anyone is using something else cheaper for this problem. > > I don´t know if you remember but some months ago I comment here that my mum ,after being PCRU for 7 years, had got her last pcr 0,216 and that I was worried. > her doctor told her to stop taking nexium or any protection of that kind, well now 2 months later she is 0,0012. so , it was nexium which > was making her getting worse. > >
Guest guest
I've also been on Nexium for more than nine years (and PCRU for 10 years). I changed to over-the-counter Prilosec for the same reason, less costly, about two years ago. As far as I can tell, it works just as well. Nexium came on the scene when Prilosec went generic ... both are manufactured by the same biopharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca. Guest guest
Thank You for sharing that information on Prilosec. I have been on Nexium 40 mg for as long as you were. When I was in the hospital in Feb. they did not have Nexium. They gave me Prilosec, and I did not see any difference. I get my scripts from a mail order pharmacy. I have been paying $80.00 for a 90 day supply. I checked what they would charge for the Prilosec 40mg for 90 days, and it was only $20.00. I have not checked the over the counter pricing. If I do it prescription, then I can deduct it at tax time with my medical. Trying to cut expenses like everyone else wherever I can > > > > > > > I've also been on Nexium for more than nine years (and PCRU for 10 years).
