Guest guest
Everybody, Check all drug products for SULFITES. I just found out that SULFITES are not only the base of most food preservatives but also in drugs, including anesthesia ( epidurals and dental) drugs. Sulfites are more than often a problem in children with autism as they cannot be broken down to sulphate due to enzyme problems. As a result they become excessive and impact on other systems to the detriment of good health. I understand they can interfere for example with dopamine synthesis. I did a search on Nystatin and couldn't find anything on Sulfites BUT there is another group of antifungals, (name escapes me) that are preserved with sulfites. What I did find on Nystatin is there is a contraindication for use in people with problems with preservatives...might the preservative be SULFITE? can someone check monographs and let us know... Re: [ ] diarrhea Consider using Nystatin for yeast. It's not so hard on the liver. --- dannenedrummond <dannenedrummond@...> wrote: > Can diflucan cause diarrhea? Guest guest
Dannene, If you're concerned, you may want to try other more natural methods of dealing with yeast that are not so hard on the body. Candex with GSE and lots of probiotics is a good combination here. My impression is that doctors prescribe Diflucan simply because it is prescribable, not because it is the best choice. Guest guest
I've been doing GSE and probiotics too. Do you think the diflucan is a waste then? Will those 2 things be enough? They seem sto be helping...he isn't as crazy the last day or two! Boy does he hate the taste of the GSE drops I've been putting in his drink! Poor guy! He actually wipes his tongue after drinking it! > > > > Can diflucan cause diarrhea? Guest guest
YOu may want to seek some references from Dr. Feingold on this. He pioneered a diet for children in the 70's that included eliminating sulfites as they cause behavioral problems in kids. He tells you where to look for them. > > > Can diflucan cause diarrhea? Guest guest
Yes, it should stop in a day or so. If it doesn't talk to your doctor. You simply may not be able to take Lex and may need to switch to a different AD. Barbara Diarrhea Hello: I tried Lexapro once before and had pretty intense diarrhea. I didn't stay with it and discontinued after only a couple of days. I am trying it again now and took my first 5mg. this morning. Within an hour I had diarrhea again. I would appreciate any insight from anyone who may know if this should stop after a while. Thanks, .
Guest guest
I am no expert. I started this past friday on lexapro i am also taking 5mg. You are having diarrhea because of your anxiety. Just keep going I started back in January and now trying it again. I will not stop this time. I went to a counselor today and that really helped things. > > Hello: > I tried Lexapro once before and had pretty intense diarrhea. Guest guest
Ummmm.....I doubt if the diarrhea in this case is caused by anxiety. There should be less anxiety when on the Lexapro, yet the diarreah only occurred when the Lexapro was being taken. I'd say it's a side effect of the med, and if it continues, the doctor should definitely be called. I'd give it several days unless the diarrheah is so bad that there is a chance of dehydration, in which case the doctor should be called right away and the med stopped. Guest guest
You said you tried Lex before and had the same adverse reaction. What did your Dr. say about it then? I agree with Barb....I think adverse reactions to any medication should be reported to medical professionals immediately. Plagal > > Yes, it should stop in a day or so. Guest guest
When I tried it before I was with a different doctor. He had me discontinue almost immediately. I started an anti-candida program yesterday - and got " digestive troubles " shall we say also. ==>Hi Jen. You haven't had a chance to read all of my main candida article yet, eh? Because Hering's Law of Cures is discussed in it: Hering's Law of Cures These natural laws can be very comforting when it appears as if your symptoms are too severe or are lasting too long. 1. Symptoms of a chronic disease disappear in definite order, going in reverse through every illness, symptom, disease, ache, pain or injury. This called " re-tracing. " During " re-tracing " you will not experience the " actual " disease, injury or illness. It will be a much milder form that is more like a " copy " of it. 2. It takes about one month of natural healing for every year the symptoms have been present. 3. Healing progresses from the more vital organs to the less vital organs; from inside of the body towards the skin and from the top of the body down. Also see these articles: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu1_1_2.php ==>Your digestive problems are die-off symptoms, which is also discussed at length in my main candida article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro2.php Bee

Anyways, what can I take to help? In the past I have used the BRAT diet, but on this diet all those things are no nos. I know that die off can cause diarrhea, but I know this is not from that. It is different. I have been on this diet almost one year now. I also did a Pau d' arco tea enema about the same time??? ==>Deb, since you've had diarrhea in the past I believe you may be experiencing re-tracing symptoms per Hering's Law of Cures: " Healing progresses in a definite order, going in reverse chronological order, from the most recent illnesses to the oldest, and in the process of cure a person may re-experience previous symptoms.<<<NOTE This means that most of the time the last problem someone has is the first problem to be dealt with by the body in the reversal process. For instance, let's say the last illness you had was a sinus infection and a suppressive medication was used to stop any sneezing, coughing, dripping nose or sinus drainage. In order for the body to heal itself it must eliminate toxins that were previously suppressed. Since this was the last illness it is the easiest for the body to heal. The body may stimulate the Immune System to create a fever to burn out the toxins. The toxins may be eliminated through the Lungs or Bronchioles causing a large amount of phlegm to exit these areas. It might eliminate them through the skin causing breakouts or it could eliminate them through the Colon by creating diarrhea or inflammation. These are just a few ways the body heals itself. Hi Deb, the very same thing happened to me, I like you have being on this diet for over a year now. When I developed diarrhea that lasted well over 3 months, no matter what I did nothing helped till I cut back on the Vit. C. I was taking 2,000 mg daily now I'm taking 1,000 and am starting to have solid bowel movements. Examine the amount of Vit. C you're taking daily.........................hope you can find the answer to this. Good luck, hope this helps. Maddalena
Guest guest
Maddalena When I started having diarrhea I cut out the vita c and other supplements all together because it made the diarrhea worse yet. Since stopping them, I am still having several episodes per day, but not as sever as with the supplements. It is so bad that alls I am passing is yellow water. I really don't believe that this is re-tracing or part of the die off. Deb

Guest guest
Sharon, I would have to ask what is constant diareaha? Does that mean you go once or twice a day and it is loose stool or is it every hour and just water? As I recall it took several months, maybe four or five for my stools to become regular again. I only had constant diareaha for the first week and that got better after day three or four and wasnt constant enough that I couldnt leave the house. But for many months when I wake up at 6 in the morning there had not be anyone hogging the bathroom because I have to go immediately! This has also slowed down and now I can be awake for about one half hour before running for the bathroom? If it is constant and watery, I would probably call my surgeon because of the danger of dehydration, but remember what I was told, you can figure water in water out! So the first couple of weeks its going to be mostly liquid and then of course the soft foods dont have much bulk to them either so maybe it will get better for you the longer you are in stage 3? in Fla Diarrhea Hi, I'm less than 2 months out but still have constant diarrhea. What I eat does not seem to affect it much. I am taking probiotics, yogurt, and FOS all of which should help to restore my healthy gut composition. Also taking fiber supplements and digestive enzymes. Any other ideas out there? Have others had this problem?
