Guest guest
Hi , I have had a few episodes of persistent diarrhea where I have had to stay close to home for a week or two. As I've mentioned before, it was severe enough to cause my bottom to become very raw and irritated. I too wrote for help, and have taken up the suggestion to use the coconut oil to help with the itching and burning. I have often found myself taking a warm epsom salt bath to finally bring some relief, soaking for 20 minutes or so and then following up with the coconut oil. When I can, I try to expose the area to the air. I know, not easily done, but desperate times lead to desperate measures! I have found also that when I am particularly distressed with diarrhea, I need to just find a quiet place to read, sew, look over a magazine, watch a movie, etc. to help take my mind off of the discomfort. This is difficult if you have a busy schedule, which I do, but I find that it is my busy schedule that often exacerbates the diarrhea. As everyone is fond of saying here, Healing hugs, Nina > > > > Bee, > Please, I was hoping for a more direct response....about diarrhea with horrible cramping and gas for 3+ weeks throughout each day. I'm weak and scared. Is there a chance that I could have some other problem, having diarrhea for so long around the clock, like my appendix or something? Do others get diarrhea for this long with no let up while on this plan? I've had a few days here and there since being on the diet but so many days in a row are exhausting my body. > >

Thanks for sharing! -Theresa On Tue, Nov 16, 2010 at 10:59 AM, Bee wrote: > > Bee can you tell us how your brother is doing now? But he's not on the internet so it's difficult for him to quell his fears and get support. I've mailed him many articles but he gets too scared by his retracing symptoms, and has either gone along with the medical or he uses herbal treatments. Both of which don't help him since he's screwing up his diet, etc. I keep telling him to " get back on the program " but he doesn't get it, yet! So please pray for him! Guest guest
Hi , In my experience you need to slow down the healing if its getting to the point of exhausting you, and getting debilitating. Keep on the 9 day program, keep your carb to an absolute minimum and cut right down on the coco oil. In fact if you are feeling dreadful just stop it untill you pick up again. The body sometimes just goes into a healing and detox accelerator zone and you just need to slow things up. Are you taking hcl? Try going back to using ghee instead of butter, you could have a problem with lactose and give up the lemon too. My policy in this situation would be to go as easy on your system as you can and send the easiest possible to digest food down there. DONT give up, this is the hard part, but this is the time you really start to learn too. Hope this helps. ..

Guest guest
I know of no one who has not experienced diarrhea on any of the drugs for CML. Welcome to the diarrhea club. Immodium didn't work for me, it was too severe. It now works if it is not too severe. I used Colestipid given to me by my doctor when it was really bad. I wrote a letter prior to this one, explaining it, but you are not alone in this situation. Just try everything members tell you and you will soon find something that will be the right thing for you. Good luck to you and the other 1200 members. LOL If cheese works for you, eat it in small portions to test the waters, we all react differently. Also, be sure that the cheese was made from pasturized milk to keep from getting something far worse than diarrhea. Guest guest
Hi Guys I joined the " D " Club with glivec. (600mg) After much trial and error I found that if I do not have any milk products at least 3 hours each side of taking glivec I am OK. However I can no longer take any full cream milks, yoghurts. cream, or thick dressings on food etc or the dreaded " D " has an attack. I now use a very low impact milk.. I and many others became a type of lactose intolerant and had major stomach issues. Hope the suggestion works Sue #1197 __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5996 (20110329) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com

Guest guest
Hi!I have been taking Ester C 3000 mg and chelated magnesium 400 mg. I wasn't sure to stop them because of their importance in taking Iodoral. I try natural vitamin C and magnesium by Epson salt bath and magnesium chloride oil? Guest guest
Had you been taking 3000 mgs of the Vit C prior to starting the Iodine protocol or is this new? If it's a new regime, it would implicate the Vit C for the diarrhea. It can take a while to build up to larger doses of Vit C. Try lowering the Vit C to maybe 500 mgs to start and see if that helps. If you excrete 90% or more, and are not taking iodine supplementation, this may be caused by: 1. A symporter defect in which iodine is absorbed but not taken into the cells properly. 2. An iodine organification problem where the iodine gets into the cell but does not attach to the lipid complex for activation. 3. Bromide may be interfering with the body's utilization of iodine. Guest guest
too much magnesium will give some people diarrhea, if you are sensitive to it. My ND recommended getting NAETed for Magnesium.High Vitamin C will also cause some loose bowel symptoms. Try backing off both for a day or 2 see if it helps, then add them back in increments? Guest guest
Yes I have been taking vitamin C prior to starting, the diarrhea started shortly after taking Iodoral 6,25 mg and trying to take more magnesium than before. I have celiac disease and shortage of vitamin A, maybe this synthetic vitamin A is messing my stomach? I have been taking it 10 000 IU for two months now. Now I am taking a couple of days 'holiday' from vitamins and Iodoral also to get this D to stop. Thank you for the Optimox link, so if I understand it correctly, vitamin C is vital to get iodine into the cells.JohannaFrom: Linn <mwm1glm@...>iodine Sent: Sat, April 23, 2011 8:02:49 PMSubject: Re: diarrhea Had you been taking 3000 mgs of the Vit C prior to starting the Iodine protocol or is this new? Guest guest
Yes, that would be correct. Have you tried magnesium oil instead of an oral supplement? Or even substituting magnesium baths (Epsom salts)? Depending on the amount of damage from the Celiac disease you might be better off focusing on skin absorption rather than oral. What kind of Vit A are you taking? What other types of supplements do you take? Stopping everything for a few days would be prudent and then maybe start over with smaller amounts of the Vit C or maybe even try a different form of Vit C. Some are harder on the stomach than others. Magnesium glycinate seems to be the easiest on stomach issues. Guest guest
Thank you for the answers! I just ordered magnesium oil and have been taking a couple of Epsom salt baths, the magnesium I have been using orally is bisglysinate from Solgar and vitamin C is Solgar's 1500 mg (ascorbin acid) with rosehips. Vitamin A has been synthetic Country Life, I am stopping it and starting with real one (cod liver oil). The other supplements are omega 3, selenium, vitamin B (2,3,5,6,12, PABA,) and natural B-complex, vitamin D, beta caroten, zinc and multivitamin. It is just difficult to know, when to take Iodoral in a picture.JohannaFrom: Linn <mwm1glm@...>iodine Sent: Sun, April 24, 2011 7:15:33 PMSubject: Re: diarrhea Yes, that would be correct. Guest guest
I vaguely remember a few people complaining about diarrhea but from much larger doses of iodine. Try backing off the Vit C dosage and switch to transdermal for the magnesium and see if that doesn't work for you.
