Guest guest
Dear group I got some great news from my CML specialist this morning. I continue to be PCRU. In fact I have been PCRU for nearly five years. Since I take 800mg of Gleevec, he suggested that I consider taking only 400mg each day. I am a bit hesitant to do this. I had such a hard time for the first couple of years when I was first diagnosed in 2003. It was quite a journey getting to this point. I was on 400mg when first diagnosed, but had to stop for awhile because of elevated liver enzymes. When I went back on Gleevec, I was ph+ for a very long time. Finally I was put on 800mg of Gleevec and eventually tested negative...PCRU. Has anyone lowered their dose of Gleevec and continued to be PCRU? I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks, Phyllis dx 3002 800mg Gleevec

Guest guest
Hi Phyllis, My only concern is that the 400 mg dose is not enough for you to maintain PCRU. I would ask you doctor to have a serum level check. This will tell you if 400 mg would be enough.
