Guest guest
Hi Leah, I'm glad you found the article interesting. I have long thought along the same lines as you, so I hope they keep coming up with new TKI drugs. It''s like antibiotics, after a while, the bacteria outsmarts it and they have to come up with something new. I am, however, very grateful for all the trials afforded us. I sometimes feel like I am walking on eggs, because this is the last drug in trial. I would like to know if there are any new ones in the petri dishes that are different from the TKI's. From what I understand, they literally have to " cook " Gleevec for 30 days, and perhaps that is why we are paying a premium for these drugs. No cancer is cheap and we can't pick and choose. For me as it is for others, it is day by day. I am so thankful when someone shares, so we know we are not alone, or even what we are up against for the future.
