Guest guest
So I am two weeks post heavy chemo .. The Drs have been waiting all this time for me to go down with an infection as my neutrophils sit at 0.0 and I have been defying them. Last night temperature spiked a tiny bit so they went in urgent action to do blood cultures and administer an across the range strong antibiotic - all put in via a Hickman line. I feel great - having a wonderful rest, doing all the creative things I never had time for. 98 cards!!! all over the walls - staff say it looks most homely - authentic looking silk flowers (not allowed real) soften the surrounding. As well as those flower fairy lights. I even have a well stocked larder to offer visitors drinks and snacks Talk about making myself at home LOL! Long term - they are hoping after 3 weeks surveillance to watch the marrow making healthy cells - at which point I may go home for a brief period. Will need another blast of Flag-Ida (chemo cocktail) in order to a) push ALL into complete remission i.e. no blasts and with Dasatinib hope the CML too will receded back to zero. This sounds like they are presuming I have both! The surveillance care here is AMAZING - I am given platelets, haemoglobin, calcium via transfusion whenever they drop a little low. Every day blood is taken and analysed extensively - kidneys/liver holding up well. Generally the Drs are VERY pleased with the way things have been going! Next BMA under sedation! Yipee! Love to all after this lengthy catchup - thank you for being in touch and concerned. Love you all! For at the end of the day I am realising more and more - Love and love and love is all there is!
