Guest guest
It is good that Kareem is using his status as a national basketball star to raise money for the leukemia/lymphoma cause. It is unfortunate that more people who have been diagnosed with CML have not surfaced and done the same with their popularity among their fans. He has a giant fan base who have rallied behind him, but there are many who have no contact with anyone else, as they have no communication with the rest of the world and have no opportunity to learn or to be a part of a CML community where they can get the support and information they need. GIPAP is a large organization partially funded by Novartis, yet not everyone has it at their disposal. I was trying to help a man in China get Gleevec and the little political town council group who dispensed it only allowed him 100 mg. a day. I wish there was something we could personally do to change that situation. Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu
