I am wondering if it is possible that this medication can have the opposite effect. Has anyone else tried this drug and had this experience? It is always possible for a drug to have an opposite effect. Tell your doctor you want a different drug. My doctor prescibed Clonazepam (anti -convulsant ) for my sleepless nights . All it does is make me tired the next day. I have cramps all night, and nightmares and restless legs. What would be a good drug for me? I have tried Flexeral (muscle relaxer) too. I wake up every hour. When I get up I am more fired than when I went to bed Thanks, Pris The book for the extreme pig person - This is not Pighood 101, it's a step beyond "how to" books. Guest guest
Hi , I've been on Amitriptyline for a couple of years now - at 20 or 30 mg a night. It does increase your appetite , and does take awhile to really work. One thing my doctor suggested is to take it 12 hours before you plan to get up the next day, which seems to help with the fogginess the next day. As well as helping with sleep, it helps with pain to some extent, which is often why it's prescribed. If it's making you depressed, then call your doc and ask for something else. Not every drug works for everyone. Beth --- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , <blair.family@v...> wrote: > My rheumatologist just prescribed this - 10 mg before bed - for insomnia.
