Guest guest
Judy, I remember years ago when you went into relapse and were refractory I believe they call it. This was kind of new to us and I wondered what they would do. It turned out that they gave you a DLI - an infustion of your donor's cells and Gleevec and you were back on track. It must have been a crushing blow, but the onus is on us in the end, to hang in and not give up until the fat lady has sung her last aria. You have been such an inspiration to all of us, that you would do us all justice and write a book about your experience. Outside of your family, friends, and the members of your support groups, the outside world has not learned about overcoming so many obstacles, yet you always retort about being so grateful to have the opportunity to visit with your grandchildren. I remember seeing a picture of you holding one. HOW GREAT IT IS !!!!! In all of this, advocacy plays a large part of our survival methods and to those who have experienced so many bumps in the road, it is all real. I know you don't think of yourself as a model, but you have certainly exhibited that in the way you live your life. We had a life before CML and we still have a life, although altered and as someone said recently, the new normal. God bless, and keep living one day at a time (Carpe Diem), Lottie Duthu
