Guest guest
Just curious what your low, low dose is? I started on 2 pills and worked up to 4 pills with MAJOR vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, extreme fatigue. I stayed on them for 8 weeks and finally after I got drug induced pneumonitis my doc stopped the MTX. Drug induced pneumonitis is the can, be fatal lung complication caused by MTX. I was off for one month. Since I got such good response my doc decided to start MTX again but injections. I am now on the equivilent of 7 pills per week or 17.5mg. After the first two months of injections I was started on Enbrel. I love the enbrel and wished I had enough positive response to only need enbrel and be able to discontinue the MTX. I haven't had any side effects at my low, low dose (other than next-day tiredness)and I'm feeling so better. Because I've always been sensitive to meds, I thought this one would really be trouble for me. Sierra
Guest guest
, MTX is a strange drug. I had months of feeling good then wham!!! Major side effects!!! then wham no side effects again!! Now if I could make these darn mouth, throat and eye sores stopped it would not be so bad. The last few weeks I was on MTX before I stopped to have my weight loss surgery I had no GI side effects but tons of sores! It seems like as soon as I fix one problem another one pops up! Toni, I started with MTX pills, had back intolerance, so switched to injections, now on Enbrel also, but I think I felt better after being on it for a few weeks than I do now. I don't know what to think.~
Guest guest
> Just curious what your low, low dose is? 5 mg--though the doctor prescribed 10 mg. After one month on it at this dose, I thought I'd try 7.5 mg beginning tomorrow night. S.
