I have a honu (Hawaiian for green sea turtle) tatoo around my belly button that hides the scars from when Dr K moved it. Now Amy has a tatoo instead of a belly button. It is very cool, a celtic cross. She is starting a new fad for those who were hatched after their surgeries....lol Sharon in Onyx who is going to have seaweed tatoo'd under the turtle and up her DS scar next Nov. when she goes back to Kona

Anyone know if this is true? > > Sharon, can you email me a pic of yours? > > Kristy I had heard that too, but it wasnt true. The tatoo artist in Hawaii said that he had done it over many scars and it has worked fine. Mine is beautiful and I will try to have Mike download the pic later. It is small tho- Amys is much bigger and hers is beautiful too. It may depend on the artist that does it. I would recommend to check them out thoroughly tho- cause these are forever...lol Make sure they are reputable and clean, and if possible check out some of their actual work. hth Sharon in Onyx

While we were at her foolproof spot and alert came over the radio about an aligator at the safeway parking lot chasing a boy....we were just looking in the wrong places....parks, not parking lots! lol Sharon in Onyx

Guest guest
Sharon... you must come to Louisiana... we have alligators out the wazoo. Swamp boat tours throw marshmallows to them, thus training them to come up to the boat. Not a very safe thing. If you go out in a boat in the river near my house, and shine a flashlight on the shore, you will see lots of yellow eyes. People waterski in the river, so they must not be too aggressive. Would love to see your sea turtle. Best, Betsy Re: Tattoo > > Arent there swamps in Alabama? > > > > SinO > > > > > > Nah, That's Fla...we have mountains and waterfalls and beaches and almost > everything else......Even bad stuff like especially tornado's and mosquitos that > would tote you off...Lol > in Alabama Well that just goes to show you what this California girl knows. Guest guest
Here is a very bad picture of my Leukemia ribbon, part of my LiveStrong ribbon, and my Triathlon athletes that are tattooed on my forearm. The LiveStong goes around my upper wrist and the Leukemia ribbon is on the inside of my forearm. The triathlon athletes may be difficult to see, but have fun looking! Think swim, bike, run...... The file is attached. It is very difficult to find the energy to accomplish all of the things I want to do.....the fatigue and brain fog is a killer, but exercise seems to help. I don't know what the answer is for everyone else, but for me, the Gleevec is working and controlling my disease and as I have mentioned before, I will happily put up with the side effects. I have never had Chemotherapy, radiation, or a bone marrow transplant, but I imagine that the side effects from Gleevec are probably not as bad? I think each of us react very differently to medication and as I have said before, my personal belief is that our attitudes / view of life influence how well we function medically, physically and mentally. I just returned from the Portland area and had the opportunity to sit next to Dr Druker for a lunch meeting. The opportunity to discuss specifics of research and my personal goals was limited to a minute or so, but I was able to thank him for his work......how do you put into words a thank you that is appropriate for the person who is saving your life? Dr Druker was very humble and a very good communicator. The drug Gleevec, is now able to interact on a genetic level and help people that have 10 different cancers. Most are leukemia based, but some are a completely different form. The Knight Cancer Center was able to recruit Dr. Joe Grey and his team of 32 experts with the hope of producing something similar for breast cancer....... Also, a vaccine is in process and the hope would be to have one available at some point in the future. The group was able to get a tour of the facility and I believe I saw some of your Jeans (LOL!) in the Nitrogen storage tank.....they were a little stiff! Unbelievable experience........I am still processing the information and the moment! Take care.....LiveStrong! ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Tom Ratzlaff <TRatzlaff@...> archer591@...
