Guest guest
Hi , I seldom post but read everything and appreciate all the information I have learned through this group. I have a question about the The Simons Simplex Study: Do you know if they will do this for an adopted child? You mentioned the need to a have the biological parents and one other sibling (I assume blood related!), and since lisa is adopted (from birth), I was just wondering about it. Guest guest
The study is all about genetics so they do need blood draws from both biological parents and any biological siblings... Guest guest
My family participated in the study and it was a fantastic experience. We went to NYC. I think this location will be the top notch facility to go to compared to Georgia or the other one, imo. Guest guest
There are 12 or 13 locations and each location has to continually send in videotapes of the ADOS and the ADI-R interview to http://www.umaccweb.com/ who is overseeing the project to make sure it's being done the same way in all places. We were also impressed with the NY clinicians. Guest guest
I hear ya, Fran. Good to hear from you, tell us how you are doing, it's been nearly a year since we heard from you. With the advent of the old and new TKI's, we have more people living longer, so it's nice to hear how our members are faring. Skip has 34 years behind him and Bobby has 16 and I will soon have 15, so it is good news all around. Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu
