Guest guest
Bobby, I told my family that I wanted to donate my body to science. Right after that, there were a huge scandal at one of the medical schools. They had more bodies than they needed, so they sold them to firms that sold them for parts. You know they can use the bones and crush them into powder. I have some of it in my foot right now, so they are useful to people in the business. Anyway a reporter found out they were just storing the bodies in a shed. Jimmy looked at me and said, " Do you still want to do that? " I said no. You can avoid funeral costs, but I want my body to be treated with dignity. I always heard that CML could hide behind your eyeballs, but I don't know it that is correct, as Dr. Druker said you could donate your corneas. Stan, that is a great anology. Something has got to go. For some, they don't have the luxury of staying home, they have families to support. Then you do what you can and everyone has to chip in to help you carry the load. I remember when my mother had surgery and I was a very small child, she walked with a knee on a chair and dragged herself around. Years later after I had a child, I could not walk (temporarily) and I remembered what my mother did to compensate and was able to get around and take care of my 3 small children, virtually all babies in diapers. We have to be creative and selective, as well and do the most important things. If you can't dust, you can use it to write your grocery list as " Maxine " does. LOL I will now look at all pies as 8 " ones from now on. Smaller slices, but the taste and pleasure will still be there. Thank you so much for your input, it all makes sense. When Jimmy tries to take over something I am doing, I always tell him to let me go as far as I can and then he can finish if I can't. He understands that I need to feel useful and I understand that it takes a lot of stress off him not to have to do everything. Right now he is in the kitchen and I need to sneak peek and see if there is something I can do to help him. He just stuck his head in the door to remind me it was time to take my Dilaudid. Merci becoup. Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu
