We found (in my son's case) that the Diflucan will become resistent when taken too long. It worked good for awhile then we seemed to be back to square one, we started the natural AF's and this has made a world of difference. I also agree with, the drinking of distilled water, a good anti-candidia diet, exercise are all an added plus to help combat the yeasty-beasty.... Wishing you good health. Guest guest
Dear Tom, hearing from you on this site, I believe always keeps us smiling. You are a true inspiration to this site and we love you dearly. You were most deserving of the award at the conference. I know that your messages are from the heart and that you would in no way try to upset anyone. You make me smile! Love,Sue #2 -- that Segway message Good morning, I'm afraid that my writing style may have caused some turmoil that I didn't expect. I forget that I almost always put flourishes in my messages that can throw people off balance. Sometimes it's intentional and sometimes it's not. Almost always its intention is to bring a smile to your face, if it can make someone feel better I feel very happy indeed. I never intend to make people upset, that is never my wish. I did you get to enter the Segway contest today, as they finely organized themselves, and it is true that I would love to win. It would be a real gas! If not, I will be happy to get my Segway in March and will be sure to tell you all about it and put up pictures. Too bad its expensive, around $5000. Guest guest
That one sure did get coverage, even the Wausau Herald, I guess. I have not the slightest doubt but that it's a combination of hysteria, politics, and fear of change. I have absolutely no fear of it at all. Of course I will write a detailed account to you'all as soon as I have my training, but my only fear is of angry people who know that life as we know it will be over. Some papers printed that the trouble may have come because Segway didn't give enough lobbying money to the politicians. I'm so naive I don't even know about that, but I'm not surprised. I must say that I don't want old ladies at Walmart hitting me with their purses, or neighbors calling the police on me, so.. We shall see. Now I shall write my letter to the local editor, & I shall send a copy to us. The fun part will be when people will drive them drunk & teenagers will play chicken on the expressways. There will probably be a layer of laws coming, & lets hope they stay sane! From Tom Kufahl .. Sit down and read. Educate yourself for the coming conflicts. Way too dangerous for other pedestrians, they say. It showed a picture of it and it does look a trifle scary with only two wheels. It said you use your body language to drive it but I'm wondering if it would not have been more balancing to have designed it with three wheels? Have you tried one yet? The article said that it was approved by 33 states but it was up to the individual city to okay it or not. Interesting.......... ) xxoo Ca. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the relpy. Its funny that you mentioned the LeapPad! I heard from a Cochlear Rep yesterday that some people use the LeapPad for help with rehab. My 7 year old son has one so at least I have something to start with! Guest guest
Hi Tom, Glad to hear you have a LeapPad and you can always ask for the latest toy for Christmas... " Leapster " ! Haha..couldn't resist saying that. I just wanted to give you some tips I've found helpful. One tip is to read to yourself! Your brain doesn't care who is doing the talking and it does help to retrain it to listen to the sounds. I also try closing my eyes while TV is on and " listen " to the commercials. I already have a clue with the pictures and text so I listen to see if I can " hear " the words. Sometimes I do and sometimes not. I talk to myself at home and when I'm driving down the road.....I read aloud all the billboards, complete with intonations and inflection. I received my 4th mapping yesterday and my audie says I'm at the top of the class! I'm now practicing some phone work to regain the ability to listen on the phone. It will take some time but I'm sure it will happen. BTW, I couldn't hear any consonants at all with hearing aids....only vowel sounds and depended mightily on my lip reading skills. --Gayle -------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Hi , > > Thanks for the relpy. Guest guest
Hi, Tom, Sorry to hear of your cold or allergy just before surgery. As Alice told you, its a call your dr will have to make. Do call and ask them if you should stop any medications you might be taking for it. Sometimes it isnt the cold that holds things up, but the meds you are taking for it. Be sure to mention perscriptions, over the counter stuff and any herbs, vitamins, or other " natural " stuff that lines the drugstore shelves promising to make you well. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!! ) Jackie
Guest guest
Tom, good to know your chain of command worked as it should! My son is the one with the ctoma and we were lucky enough to run into a great military ENT that caught it and sent us to a childrens hospital with a pediatric otologist. The issue we are having now, is we may be moved in the next 6 months and we really don't want to start over with new docs that don't deal with this on a regular basis. We are getting a letter from the ped. doc stating the condition and that a follow up surgery is necessary. Hoping that will help our case a little when we beg dept. of army not to move us. Guest guest
did you get your new tires yet? Robin Re: Medicare enrollment I'm wondering if you're confusing Medicare with Medicaid. Medicaid covers PA hours. Medicare does not. I suspect you are or will be on BOTH Medicare and Medicaid. If so, Medicaid will require you take Medicare Part B. E-mail me here or off-list for more help. My work e-mail is: expind @ comcast.net Kendra is good at this stuff, too. If the private insurance you have is through your dad's or mom's employer and that employer has 100 or more employees, that private insurance will likely be primary, Medicare secondary, Medicaid tertiary. Most employer policies have clauses about disabled adult children that only cover them to a certain age and/or require that the adult child remain a dependent. Check with your parents HR people about the policies. I lost mine when I was no longer a dependent. It was a bit of a catch 22 in that I lived on my own, paid rent, etc...Mom wanted me to keep her health coverage but being her dependent made me ineligible for most of financial aid at my college, and my parents couldn't pay for school. Fortunately, her employer-sponsored health insurance sucked so it was no loss. Medicaid was better. Alana > > > Hi Guys, > I got information today that I will start getting Medicare coverage in January. I automatically am covered by Part A (hospital) but am wondering if I want to enroll in Part B (medical). I currently have 2 private insurance companies, one is a death benefit from my mom and the other from my dad's work. We don't know how long my dad's insurance will cover me but believe my mom's will cover me for life. > Mainly I'm currently wanting Medicare for PA hours so can have a break. My packet of information says that Part A covers some PA hours and Part B will cover some as well. What I want to know is which part covers the most hours? Also, if I decide to get Part B, which plan do I want? I realize that Medicare varies from state to state (I'll be under NY) but I figured I could get an idea from you all. Guest guest
Hi Robin. I have had my new tires for a couple days now and so far it's been a lot better. I am still trying to figure out the best body mechanics to use, it was a small change but it feels so different. It is a lot less of a struggle to get out now, though and that's really nice. Before it was such a strain I would be exhausted by the time I got out. It's a little harder to get my left foot in, but that's a small price to pay. Anyway, it was money well spent! I have so much more confidence now when I am getting out of the truck. -------------- Original message -------------- From: " Robin " <roses4u@...> did you get your new tires yet?
