Guest guest
Hi Ivan: Fatigue is definitely one of the side effects with Gleevec, and there are other side effects that people get. Some get them worse than others, but a lot of it gets better with time. I am on Gleevec for 10 years, and I still get some fatigue. I get leg and foot cramps, but I noticed they do not come as often as they used to. Weight Gain is another side effect for some, and others complain of a big weight loss. Nausea seems to hit me if I do not eat a substantial breakfast before taking my pill.     Sometimes we get different things, and have a tendency to blame it on our Gleevec. I have other health problems that can cause some of the same things as Gleevec does.     Hopefully your side effects lessen with time. Guest guest
Fatigue is a big side effect of TKIs. Gleevec was horrible to me on that account. I was switched to Sprycel so I could stay awake at work. I still get fatigue, but not as bad - nausea is my big side effect now. After two years on Gleevec, I highly doubt you are experiencing any symptoms of CML. Now it is all about dealing with the cure. My life post CML: I'm always tired, always nauseous, and catch any bug I am halfway exposed to and it takes forever to get over it. But, hey, at least I'm alive. Guest guest
I've been on Gleevec since April 2007. Â I'm not PCRU, but I'm low. Â I have to say I'm really feeling well--strong these days (knock on wood). Â My side effects come and go, tiredness, upset stomach, lack of focus, and cramps. Â As for cramps, I notice that when I eat right, and for me that means no sweets, I get far fewer cramps with far less severity. Â When I am on one of my " sugar binges " the cramps can be hellacious. Â Just a tip. Â Anyone who has cramps might try eating a balanced diet with as little refined sugar products as they can do without.
