Guest guest
Dear Margaret, Congratulations on having reached the level where you can feel safe. Zavie hopes we will all soon " get there " . It makes me smile because even though we don't reach that level, we all have a chance at the brass ring - even without it. After nearly 15 years, I continue to struggle to " get there " , but I am at peace with the status quo. It was not that way 15 years ago. Seems like they had a rubber stamp and put on your history that you had 3 1/2 to 5 years. Of course that meant without treatment. They say to never sweat the small stuff, but at 4 years and no word on what my trial was doing or no luck in finding anyone else in it, I did begin to sweat profusely (the size of collar buttons). Just about that time I went to MDACC and started a new trial with INF and HHT, the hotly debated new(old) drug. Gleevec rescued me from that hot bed, but I think I have INF to give credit to for extending to me the extra time I have accumulated. Every drug(trial) I was in gave me extra time, so whether it was considered a failure or success, I am still grateful for the opportunities extended me. I hope you go all the way up that ladder of success, as the hope it spreads is genuine. Carpe Diem, Lottie Duthu
