Guest guest
Kay- The last response was correct, you do get Mangosteen from the mangosteen tree Unfortunately, they don't grow here in the U.S. (although a few have recently been cultivated in Hawaii they won't be fully producing fruit for about 10-20 years!) There is a whole fruit puree juice now available here!! Read on.... The mangosteen (garcinia mangostana) tree is found predominantly in Southeast Asia in countries like Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. However, the fruit is rather delicate and does not travel well, which is why is not commonly known in the U.S. The people of Southeast Asia are very familiar with the prized mangosteen fruit and Asian Health Practitioners have long made use of pericarp for a myriad of nutritional and medicinal uses. If you check back in my February 26th post, I go into more detail about the science and research behind the Mangosteen. Up until November 2002, there were no commercially available products in the U.S. containing the mangosteen fruit. XanGo is the name of the company that was first to bring the Mangosteen juice to this country. You can check them out at http://www.xango.net Since thousands of people have been benefiting from mangosteen juice, there are a couple of copy-cat juices available -- but XanGo is the only one with the whole fruit (rind and all). Those that are just juice from the pulp don't have much benefit because they don't contain the rind of the fruit -- which is where all the medicinal properties are. XanGo does not sell directly to the consumer but through independent distributors like myself. I will e-mail you my information privately since I want to respect this groups guidelines. XanGo is so confident in their product that they do offer a 30-day money back guarantee, so there is really no risk if you want to try it. And as a side note, it tastes great too. My two-year old asks for it everyday!! Unlike the shark cartilage I was reading about in this group the other day -- that sounded horrid Let me know if you have any other questions or would like any additional research etc. Alyson -- In Rheumatoid Arthritis , " Kay Simpson " <Siwelyak@f...> wrote: > Alyson, > Where do I get mangosteen fruit?? > Kay >
