Guest guest
Hi Barbara! Thank you so very much for this dear sweet post!! I feel badly for your friend! I know how terrifying and debilitating panic definitely is. It's amazing how a fear can just pop out of nowhere and practically paralyze someone. I live in Southwest Michigan right on the lake! I'm looking forward to the warm weather, even though its supposed to rain with snow tomorrow! I'll be able to get out and hopefully see the beach and water. I have a little therapy dog named Bella. I'm hoping to find a great craft class at s too! We have an art center too, I am going to try to check into, and I found a ceramic studio in the yellow pages. Folk art painting sounds amazing! My family does live near me. My mom, an uncle, and my brother. I am a first time aunt, my nephew is 9 months old now and just started crawling all over. He's really one of the best forms of therapy and entertainment I could ask for! Thank you for the hugs I am sending you some as well! Barbara Creedon <bcreedon@...> wrote: Gee , you have so much to deal with. God Bless you in all ways. I admire you so much as you have totally bared your soul, and I know how hard that is to do. I have a dear friend who has panic attacks, and they just terrify her. I know how debilitating they are, plus, she suffers from depression too. Your plate is so very full, and I hope that you do find a craft class in 's, as I know you will really enjoy making some new friends. Where do you live? If you lived anywhere near me I would go see you in a flash. I do folk art painting, and I was going to start to get some girls in to teach them this craft, but when my RA was really bad, I put it on the back burner. As soon as I can, I want to try to do this. We all need something positive in our lives, something to look forward to, etc. Does your Mom and family live near you? If so, that is so nice. I am sure they know what you are going through, and how hard some days really are. You are so young to be so sick, and homebound. It is not fair. I am sending you some hugs, from me to you. You have touched my heart . I hope you have better days, and please remember, I do care about you. God Bless you. Guest guest
Sharon, Hang in there w/ the job. Like I said, pace yourself. Most employer based healthcare insurance you should qualify for regardless of pre- existing condition or not having insurance prior. If they do have a clause (pre-existing or not having insurance)...there is a grace period of 3-6 months. If you are on probation for 90 days and are eligable for healthcare insurance after that probation peroid...that normally is all you have to wait. Again, good luck!! > > > > > > > > > > I have been worrying about this a lot, I see some have > > mentioned > > > > here > > > > > struggling with this too... how many of us deal with this? > > > > > > > > > > I notice constant fatigue... Guest guest
I get the flu-ish symptoms too. From what I can tell, this is common in RA? As the day progresses, the aches increase and by evening I'm usually running a slight fever. Overnight I often wake up in sweats. I just generally feel like I have the flu. I used to think that once I had the morning stiffness conquered all would be great. Then I discovered that I may have a few good hours before these other symptoms creep up on me. And then the nighttime voodoo-doll syndrome.
Guest guest
Thank you so much ....you've put my mind at ease. I'll see what happens. I should qualify for their insurance by the end of July I would guess. Thank you too for your good luck wishes. I'm feeling a little better about it all. I think my partner is going to take me to work in the morning and then my Mother will pick me up in the afternoons so I won't have to deal with the hike from the parking lot to casino and then from there to the office. I'll just have to deal with getting to the office from wherever I can go inside. That is a huge relief for me because I can't walk too far without a break. I'm sure the first few days will be rough but I'll manage. Thinking very positively here!! Guest guest
I am right there with all of you...I think its the constant pain and the fear of the constant pain that wears us down. I dont really have any advice yet because I am so new to this. This is going to be one of my questions for the Rheumatologist when I see him July 1st. So far, I have handled it by doing what I want to do -- lay down. I save my energy for the most important things. I feel best in the evening. What I need to ask is whether the fatigue means your body needs to rest or if it's ok to take something to zip you up a little. Like I rarely use caffeine, so a coke will do it. Interesting about Provigil. My husband is on it for narcolepsy. dd **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. Guest guest
The fatigue I get sometimes is literally nauseating. If I don't sit back and rest or nap, I feel as though I will throw up. Awful. Cheryle aka Tess

Guest guest
Lori, I hope my question isn't rude, but how much did the med cost you. Would like to try it, but I've heard it's very expensive. I'm wondering if there might be a generic. My fatigue is so bad, I can't hardly do anything. I've had fatigue for so long, I just feel like it's a part of my life now. But, it would be nice to feel better. Have a nice day, Tawny > > Hello Margaret. Guest guest
Not rude at all Tawny! It's covered under my medical insurance, and my copay is $40. There is no generic form available at this time. I get the 200mg and cut them in half with my pill cutter, so in effect I only pay $20 per month for them. I really struggled with terrible fatigue for over a year before my doctor suggested trying these. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing! I will talk to my rheumy, which my appointment isn't until Nov. Guest guest
Margaret, I saw that someone else already responded with a medication for fatigue. So glad that you brought this up. I have complained forever to my rheummy about fatigue. I will have to check into Provigil also. I hope you are having a better day today. Guest guest
No, Provigil doesn't effect my sleep at all. I'm actually very lucky that I don't experience any side effects from it. My rheumatologist did tell me to watch out for heart palpitations and he said that it can make you feel antsy. It is originally prescribed for people with narcolepsy as well as those who are shift workers. I really was at the end of my rope before I tried this. I was so fatigued that I was falling asleep a couple times a day even though I was getting a decent nights sleep. Now that I take it, I'm still a tiny bit tired, but not enough for me to increase the dosage. Guest guest
Before taking Provegil, check the meds you're on because they cause fatigue and weakness, especially Planquanil. Doc gave me Provagil sample to try and it did nothing for me but Plaquanil put me in the hospital with weakness. Be careful with your meds. Stella > > > > Hello Margaret. Guest guest
Tawny, I had to see my GP's partner yesterday and told him how the beta- blocker has really added to my fatigue. He told me to take Coenzyme Q-10 100MG once a day. It is for energy and he takes it because of the same problem. Here is a site where you can check it out. There are some drug interaction warnings, such as if you are a diabetic. http://altmedicine.about.com/b/2006/09/27/what-is-coenzyme-q10.htm Read it carefully and you might want to check with your doctor. It is an over the counter supplement. I paid about $16 for a month supply. Shirley > > > > > > > Hello Margaret. Guest guest
Stella and group; I do feel very weak. I am on plaquenil. I just started taking humira injections. Which is great cause it stoped the RA pain completly. I hope it last. I am going to tell my rheumy about my weakines. I was thinking I was weak because I didnt move around for so long from the RA pain. I really feel so tired and weak. Thanks STella. gentle hugs Clora > Before taking Provegil, check the meds you're on because they cause > fatigue and weakness, especially Planquanil. Guest guest
Clora, PLEASE talk to your doc immediately and don't let him brush you off. Look up Plaquanil on the internet and print out out whatever you can and highlight the specific verbage on weakness and fatigue. Tell him about me in your support group or what ever you can think of but tell him you want to wean off so you can see that it is the med that could be causing your weakness. I thought just like you, but I kept pushing trying to prove that I can make myself stronger (only to get myself to bed for a couple of days) and that I can do what I have to around the house (couldn't fold laundry because of weakness or talk for 5 min on the phone). Be firm for yourself. Gopod luck and let me know what the doc says. Stella > > Stella and group; > > I do feel very weak. I am on plaquenil. I just started taking > humira injections. Guest guest
Shirley, I hope it helps, let me know. I will ask my doc when I see her next time. I do have pre-diabetes, so I need to be careful. I am interested if it helps you, I'm praying it will. Does it take awhile to work? It would be much cheaper, and that is what we all are looking for.
