Fatigue

Steph,

I was told that I will probably develop Lupus - trust me, scared me to death. I may still develop it?? Who knows. I have HORRIBLE HORRIBLE joint pains and so many other Lupus symptoms. I don't want Lupus but if it happens, I will have to learn to live with it. I can't worry about it now though, I will just leave it in God's hands and know that he won't give me anything I can't handle. Lynn

I thought Lynn and I were the queens of "scary health issue researchon the Internet." You can join our club if you want... but it isprobably too early after surgery to be concerned with fatigue. I wasso prone to it for about 6 weeks after surgery. There were days whenI would have to go back to bed... I would just crash. I haven't hadthat happen in a few weeks now. So... give it time. A rheumatologist would be the one to see if you think you have Lupus. You need to get your ANA checked. Mine was postive and going up each time I was seen. This is why I was told that I will probably have Lupus one day, just not yet - oh, joy joy. Lynn

I'm not sure but I suppose I could ask. When I went to my dr's today she had me to more blood work for CBC and Sed Rate, but that's it. There is no place on the web that talks about

breast implant illness and all the symptoms

besides the groups that have lived with the

condition. Like us and others like us.

No medical site, doctor site, or drug company

site, or even collage of medicine such as

Harvard or any of them, have any knowledge

on breast implant illness. You cant learn about

something if you dont acknowledge it exists !

They are the biggest group of people with

monetary denial I can think of. Denial earns

them money.....

Thanks, it is tough to be patient but I have no other choice but in

I have been diagnosed with Lupus. I have the positive blood tests,

the symptoms, the skin rash that was biopsied which said it was Lupus.

Do I really have it? I don't know. Maybe I have an autoimmune

disease that is from the implants that causes lupus like symptoms...

or maybe I have Lupus as a result of the damage the implants did to my

body. I trust that if I have it, I can make it better, reduce the

flares and severity of the flares by diet etc. As Lynn said, I have

to leave this in Gods hands. I have had a blood test for

leukemia/lymphoma and a liver/spleen scan in the past week (because my

blood counts were dropping), I don't have problems with either.... no

leukemia, lymphoma, no problems with my liver or spleen... all great

news. I'm celebrating those things these days.

No not fun when you decide you have all these rare diseases however...

I still believe that knowledge is power. I was a teacher for 30

years.. I have to learn things, and right now, learning things about

my health is what I do.... this might decrease with time but I only

began getting really sick about 18 months ago, had abnormal tests

almost a year ago, was diagnosed with lupus finally in Aug. and found

out what damage my implants were doing in Aug... still all pretty new

to me.

I have tried not to get worried about each new disease things point to

though... doesn't do anything but cause stress.. which we don't need.

That is great news! What were you're symptoms and what kind of a skin

Some of the symptoms crept in slowly. I began having more and more

joint pain. This was a big issue after awhile. I became sensitive to

things I had no problems with previously.... like pool chemicals and

nail products.

My skin rash was primarily on my arms. It was itchy patches or small

bumps like bites... it remained for months though and so my skin

stayed a blotchy pink in some places. They finally did 2 biopsy's on

it after I had it for 4 months. One they sent to a local lab the

other to the Mayo clinic. Both came back as a positive for Lupus or a

connective tissue disease. I was disappointed... I wanted it to be

nothing... but the rash is pretty much gone now. They tell me to stay

out of the sun, or it will come back. I'll see when it gets warmer.

Lupus wise... joint and arthritic pain (BAD), pleuritic chest pain (for a couple of months), photsensitivity on my skin.

I had fatigue too. After I got my thyroid staightened out, the fatigued is better. But you just had surgery. I was pretty sick after surgery.

Who did your surgery?

I've noticed for the past couple of days that if I'm in the sun my

face will get red but then it goes away. That never happened to me

before. That's why I'm scared about it because I know it's a symptom.

If you are super worried about it, I would go the a rheumatologist to get tests run. Even if it is just for the peace of mind of knowing it is negative.

Rest and do try not to worry - I know it is much easier said than done.

Stephie,

This could be from your antibiotics or the meds lingering in your

system after surgery. It sometimes takes a long time to get the

effects of meds out of your system.

Thanks, I just checked info on keflex and it does show skin rash for

one of the side effects. Do you know how long it takes for the

antibiotics to get out of your system?

Try not to worry. The same thing happened with me and I was told I

had lupus. The redness disappeared within a couple months and tests

came back negative. Right now you still have lots of the medications

in you from surgery which can give weird symptoms. Try not to

stress...I know, easier said than done. The others can attest that I

was a wreck in the beginning, obsessing about everything...worrying

doesn't solve much. Your body has it's own built-in healing

mechanisms. When things seem strange, it's usually just doing what

So far I don't have to be back into work until the beginning of Dec

Lynn, and All ~Ya, I think we all have been members of the club....

I tell ya, I was for sure for years and years. I now

love the research and dont believe a word most doctors

say......so, it is weird how your mindthoughts change with

antibiotics to get out of our systems.

I know it's such a shame. Today I have a weird feeling in my left had

and my fingers feel tingley. This is new and I don't know what to do.

I am so depressed over this.
