The DHEA test is different blood test than the DHEA-S test.

You gotta get outside between 10 am and 2 pm for the most UVB, it doesn't

get through windows, I understand.

The doctor who wrote the booklet prescribes up to 300 mg DHEA plus other

stuff, depending on the person's DHEA blood test level..... not DHEA-S.

I started at 25 mg. for a week, then 50 mg for a month now ready to

move up to 75 mg. as see how it goes, then labs to test DHEA level in about a

month.... but I suspect I will know by how I feel.

  • 5 weeks later...

Thanks Jerry, and Amy for your advice with my teenage sone. Jerry, you

crack me up......he already has a girlfriend and I think that she adds to

his " demon-like " actions. Maybe it's hormones, who knows. He just think he

knows it all and I know nothing!!!! , you give me hope, maybe in a few

years he will settle down and act right. I'm patiently waiting......

Someone had asked about iron supplements. I was recently so anemic I had to

have a blood tranfusion, not fun at all. My liver doc said I could take a

multi-vitamin with extra iron. I just bought the Wal-Mart brand since it was

the cheapest. So far, my hemoglobin has not dropped like it did. I didn't

realize what anemia did to you. It's scary!

Take care guys, in Louisiana

.....

I just thought a girlfriend would keep him out of your hair...when I was

17 thats all I thought of was girls (now I think about women and dream

about girls..sigh...)

Also when I was 17 I was disgusted that my parents wer so dumb I was

amazed when I turned 25 how muched they had learned in such a short time

and when I was 30 I just couldn't believe my Dad had become a genius...

Before my transplant I was so anemic from bleeding varices that I had

transfusions every 3 weeks or so. Once I went to ER with a Hemo count of

5.2 they were amazed I wasn't comatose.

BTW I way I raised 4 GIRLS thru thier teens as a single Dad ...you want

to talk about pulling ones hair out.. not to mention

4 cases of PMS thru-out the month . ( 5 when thier mom was alive) They

all turnrd out great ,,,,and paybacks a bitch as the three older ones

are moms themselves so thier days are coming..

That 17 yr. old will be a man soon enough

and his treatment of you will change... after all a boys best friend is

his mother.

Good luck!

Jerry

[ ] hair and perms

I know people get their hair colored and I was wondering if any one

knows if it's safe to get a perm? I am sick and tired of this straight

hair, I used to get perms all the time. I can't find any info saying

not to but thought maybe some one has a personal experience.

Thanks, Dee
