Guest guest
information is sketchy at this point. He was not stable enough to do the surgery right away, He currently has too much pressure in his brain. I think and this is a think that they are going to put a shunt in to drain the fluid from his brain into his abdomen - or it wasn't a stroke as they thought and it was a aneurysm. My guess is the later - reason for surgery you don't usually do surgery with stroke patients. (Inter Insignores) Prayers needed Dear fellow NFP professionals, I am not quite certified yet with Marquette, just waiting on hearing the word from my professors. My pastor has suspended me from teaching and his best friend, the new Executive Director of Marriage, Family & Life, has suspended me from promoting NFP or facilitating groups for the next six months - without much explanation, and no prior counseling. Our diocese is in a transition with new committee for NFP/Marriage, Family & Life. I really need prayers as I struggle to accept this with grace. I am curious, has anyone else ever faced a suspension in any diocese? I am certified with CCL, along with my husband, and through my Marquette training, I have been certified in SDM. I haven't taught anything out of Church teachings, and I feel that I know them well. I try to add some personal witness into my teaching, and I tell my clients that NFP is difficult, it takes commitment and lots of prayer. I guess I'm looking for some support during this time of "trial". Thank you,

Guest guest
You got it. I just wanted, by asking what I did, to highlight the utter lack of pastoral support which sadly is the norm. Every bishop ought to lead on this, ought to preach on it himself, and ought to assign pastors to help local NFP flourish. What was it the Pope VI said this mission ought to be considered by the bishops? Among the "most urgent" of priorities or something like that?Don't give up hope!Sent from my iPhoneOn Jul 13, 2012, at 5:05 PM, " & Dan O'C." <oconnor1124@...> wrote: Dominic,I don't want to create any more issues. Guest guest
PJB,I sometimes wonder if I have become " that Catholic. " I used to hate " that Catholic " back before I embraced all the teachings of the Church and the beauty of those teachings. And now I'm afraid if I back down from my " zeal for the mission " - I'm going to be falling into Satan's trap. I've been listening to a lot of Fr. Baron's talk on the 7 Deadly Sins, 7 Lively Virtues (a plug for Lighthouse Catholic Media) - which is where I've heard about this concept. My question is: what happened to God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called? I know I have to put this in the Lord's hands. I'm just struggling with accepting this. Especially since my husband's deployed and I can't use him as a sounding board. -  On Fri, Jul 13, 2012 at 6:48 PM, paddy jim baggot <pjbaggot@...> wrote:  Could you have been too Catholic? That will get you into a lot more trouble than teaching contrary to the Church  Anyway, it happened to many saints, and Jesus Christ Himself so you are in good company Maybe there is another parish that would appreciate you better St. was kicked out of many placesnot despite being a saint, but rather because of being a saint PJB. From: oconnor1124@...Date: Fri, 13 Jul 2012 18:05:34 -0400Subject: Re: Prayers needed  Dominic,I don't want to create any more issues. Guest guest
, Welcome to the club. You can, of course, exercise your rights and ask for an explanation. Or appeal to your bishop. Or ask him for an appointment to discuss the matter. But you also might consider yourself lucky. You were only suspended for a short time. Letters were not sent by the bishop to every parish telling them not to run your bulletin announcements or make referrals, as has happened. You have not been forced to send your announcements through a diocesan NFP person who just happens to get them out to the parishes after the course has already started, as has happened. Relax and enjoy your children. Or look at the first reading for July 22nd and apply it to the shepherds of the Church in the West who have treated the teaching of Humane Vitae with benign neglect for some 44 years and are now reaping the harvest of Melinda Gates and her counterparts in Congress and the Cabinet. My first suggestion was better -- relax and enjoy your children. And of course, continue to pray for the conversion of our bishops and priests.
