Please help E.S.P.

If you have attended Extra Special People (E.S.P.) in Watkinsville

GA, or know someone who has, you know it is a wonderful place for our

special children! Please help if you can. My son will be attending

his third summer there, and I hope it will not be the last. I have

been collecting items for the yard sale they are having on the 21st

of April and we will be there washing cars too. If you wish to help

The camp's current situation seems dire . . .Martha Wyllie started

Extra Special People Summer Camp, the Oconee County woman envisioned

a program that would give children with disabilities the skills they

would need to make the transition from the structured, sheltering

halls of school to the real world. Now, 20 years later, as the first

classes of Extra Special People's day campers are making that

transition, the camp may be one summer away from closing its doors

because of a slump in donations and a dwindling endowment.

" I think it's just having a hard time right now because of the loss

of her, " Gilliam said. " She just knew everybody and loved ESP so

much. We need to find somebody who has that kind of dedication and

the time to devote to the camp -- (Bohnhoff) seems like she has that.

" (Bohnhoff) wants to go forward and so do all the counselors. So, if

we get the money to keep the camp going it will move forward. We just

need to get out to all of the people who were connected to mom and

let them know that Martha's dream is still alive. "
