Well at least your typing fingers still work (and boy do they - LOL)!

A lot of you seem to depend on the Prednisone. I don't think I ever want to take that again! Bonnie, I think you can attest to why I feel that way. It had a very freaky mental effect on me.

They say youth is wasted on the young. They are probably right. Now that we are older (I guess 44 doesn't seem old to you, but you know what I mean) we have the time, knowledge and resources to do things but can't because our bodies can't keep up with our minds.

But then again, maybe I'd rather it be this way than the reverse (which would be the mind is gone but the body is OK).

You all have been so helpful. A couple of you have said (or implied) that the pain seems to travel around the body. I guess that makes sense, considering the nature of the immune disorder.

I think the conclusion to my question (are tendonitis and RA related?) is that yes they are. This too makes sense, if the joints are damaged, the muscles are not going to be worked correctly and hence the irritation to the tendons.

My Orthopod gave me another cortisone injection. Here it is only 1-1/2 days later and my arm is feeling better than it has in 6 months. My house is nearing completion of stage one of a major remodel and I was quite overactive today moving furniture and shampooing the rugs. I know that was stupid. I need to take care of my body.

I have a new question - it is about exercise. I agree that it is important to keep moving, but how do I know what is good and bad as far as types of exercise, when to exercise, exercise with pain, working through pain, and the like. Currently I am walking 3 miles, 3 times a day on a treadmill. I used to do much more (a vigorous aerobics class) but I think it was too hard on my joints, especially when they made us hold light weights as we aerobicised. I would like to use the machines/free weights more (after this tendonitis heals up) but I don't know if that would be beneficial or harmful to the RA.

I'd be glad to read anything anyone has to offer.

Lucy
