Guest guest
The same thing happened to me two months ago. I was feeling fine and then all the sudden blood was gushing out of my trache. They did a cat scan and said I had pneumonia. And now, I suction out mucus plugs all the time (really big ones too). My ENT's response? Get a humidifier. No coughing, no sore throat or anything. Nothing showed up on the xray (due to scoliosis) so they gave me a cat scan and saw it there. Now stuff is coming up and it gets hard to breathe because of mucus plugs but I have the cough assist I use. Has anyone ever had this? **************It's Tax Time! Guest guest
Micah had pneumonia 4 times in two years. Sent me to pulmonologist Said he had asthma that was going into pneumonia. I researched myself and figured out he had silent reflux. Went to gastroenterologist and bingo. Put on meds no more pneuomonia. Has he ever been checked for reflux? Guest guest
Yes , been there, done that! However, it seems Noah has outgrown it. No pneumonia or hospitalizations for three years now, so he was about 10 when he stopped getting it. There is still time for to outgrow it too. Does he have a weak cough? Do you give him breathing treatments at the first sign of a cold? Do you " give him pats " on the back when he has a cold to break up the congestion? These are all things that helped immensely. The pulmonologist, or an RT at the hospital can show you the technique for the pats. It is exhausting to do with your hands, so ask them for an anesthesiology mask...the kind with the air bladder around the rim. tape up the hole and it is perfect to get the pat without the soreness. Noah still asks for " pats " even when he isn't sick..puts him to sleep! Guest guest
Back in the days before antibiotics pneumonia was the chief cause of death in DS infants. That was why their life span was considered so short. Of course many of them died of the things they have treatments and surgeries for now, which weren't done for DS kids even when they were for others. I knew one little girl who had pneumonia several times until she seemed to outgrow it at 4 or 5. Of course we had antibiotics by then. But I also had a cousin who had DS and had pneumonia frequently, his development was also very poor, as he was sick so much. His mother was always able to pull him out of it but when he was 5 she was hospitalized and she left orders for his care, but it didn't work out and he died. I don't think he'd have had a long future anyway, but I can imagine how she felt. Of course, these kids that you are asking about are a good deal older and we do have antibiotics now, so there could be other causes. But there has been a historical basis for it too. Guest guest
My pulmo told me one of the reasons they are susceptible to pneumonia is because of the low muscle tone. Low tone =weak cough. When you aren't able to cough the congestion up, it collects in your lungs, causing pneumonia. Noah has always had a very weak cough. Thank goodness he has outgrown it, because the last time we were in the hospital, they had to go to the big deal antibiotics, as the standard meds weren't cutting it. Pretty scary when they make you sign a form before they will take the next step.... We then had his immune system tested, and even tested for food allergies. It came back that he had some allergies and as those have gotten under control and he has gotten older, we actually just had our first winter without a real case of having a cold. YAY!! Guest guest
Hi, What a coincidence. I just got back from the hospital, where my daughter Ana spent five days due to a case of pneumonia. Ana is almost 16 years old, and this is the first time she has had this. She began coughing constantly, diarrhea and vomiting and fever more than a month ago, until finally she was sent to the pneumologist by the GP. They did a lot of tests and also was seen by another specialist while at the hospital and the latter suggested to have allergy tests done. When Ana was younger, she was diagnosed with chronic sinus and it seems this has caused the pneumonia that she has now. Your posts have really come at a right time for me, and feel more at " ease " knowing that some of you have had this with your children. She still coughs, especially when eating. We did when Alden was younger. Many hospitalizations and lung collapse a few times. We have an ENT/Pulmonologist/ Allergist beside his Cardiologist and Feeding Specialists due to his bouts of pneumonia. He has been doing much better with inhalers and allergy medications. My girls are getting allergy shots now (ages 12 and 10) and they have improved a great deal with upper respiratory infections. Alden is only 6 and the allergist will test him for specifics this summer. He will eventually do allergy shots, more than likely, but we do not want to make it traumatic, so the allergist and I will determine if and when to begin. Two years ago, when the girls started, we did not even want to test Alden because it can be scary and painful. Since he began doing well with our protocol, we are playing it by ear. If I notice an upper respiratory infection coming on, we immediately begin nebulizer treatments. The routine and medications we have been doing have certainly kept him out of the hospital lately. Guest guest
Tommy, Sorry to hear about the pneumonia. These creatures will try to invade as many parts of the body as they can. It's a sick cycle- they tend to invade those with compromised immune systems, and then make those systems worse. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in exotic cures, we forget the basics: like getting lots of fresh air, water, and exercise. The inevitable depression that sets in, further supports this mess. Hope you get better soon. -D. > > Â Hi guys I was wondering if any one else has gotten pneumonia since there symptoms have started? Guest guest
What is MMS Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) is a 28% solution of sodium chlorite in distilled water, commonly used as a water purification product. It is NOT a mineral supplement nor is it sold as a mineral supplement of any kind. An important distinction must be made between MMS (the sodium chlorite solution) and the " MMS Protocol " established by chemist and metallurgist Jim Humble and detailed exhaustively in his book, " Breakthrough, the Miracle Mineral supplement of the 21st Century " . Only when sodium chlorite is activated with citric acid as directed is the chemical compound chlorine dioxide produced, which is reported to have helped many people combat a wide range of illnesses by helping to destroy pathogens. If your privately intended use for Miracle Mineral Solution is to activate it (i.e. convert it to chlorine dioxide) it is advised you thoroughly read all related material, consult a healthcare professional and study various third party resources, some of which are made available here for your safety and convenience. MMS can also be used to treat animals, please check the MMS Advisor website in the links section for specific information. What is Chlorine Dioxide? Chlorine dioxide is a chemical compound with the formula ClO2, and also happens to be a highly effective pathogen destroyer. Prominent established uses of chlorine dioxide include oral hygiene, and more recently, oral supplementation. Chlorine dioxide is also the topic of author, scientist, chemist and humanitarian, Jim Humble's book entitled, " Breakthrough, The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century " . In his book, Humble describes how he discovered the use of chlorine dioxide as an alternative treatment for Malaria, which has since led to over 75,000 documented successful treatments of the disease in Africa. What is a Pathogen? A pathogen is described as " any biological agent that causes disease or illness to its host " . Types of pathogens include Bacteria, Viruses, Protozoa, Fungi, Parasites and Proteins. Examples and/or typical effects of Bacterial pathogens include: * Urinary Tract Infection * Peritonitis * Typhoid * Foodborne Illness (i.e. Salmonella, E. coli) * Tuberculosis * Anthrax * Pneumonia * Strep Throat * Stomach Ulcers * Tularemia * Lyme Disease Examples and/or typical effects of Viral pathogens include: * HIV / AIDS * Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E (liver disease) * Herpes * HPV (i.e. Genital Warts; HPV infection is a necessary factor in the development of nearly all cases of Cervical Cancer) * Warts * Chickenpox, Smallpox, Cold Sores and Measles * Colds, Influenza Virus (i.e. H5N1, Bird flu) Examples and/or typical effects of Protozoan pathogens include: * Malaria * Giardiasis * Cryptosporidiosis * Chagas Disease Examples and/or typical effects of Fungal pathogens include: * Opportunistic Pneumonia * Ringworm * Candidiasis (i.e. Yeast Infection) * Histoplasmosis (i.e. " Darling's Disease " ) * Cryptococcosis Examples and/or typical effects of Parasitical pathogens include: * Roundworm/Tapeworm Examples and/or typical effects of Protein pathogens include: * BSE (mad-cow disease) * vCJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) MMS is a 28% solution of sodium chlorite in distilled water. MMS is a water purification product. It is not a mineral supplement nor is it sold as a mineral supplement of any kind. Though often referred to in acronym (i.e. " MMS " ), an important distinction must be made between MMS and the MMS Protocol " established by chemist and metallurgist Jim Humble and detailed exhaustively in his book, " Breakthrough, the Miracle Mineral supplement of the 21st Century " . When MMS is activated as detailed in Jim Humbles protocol (1 drop of MMS to 5 drops of a 10% solution of citric acid), the chemical compound chlorine dioxide is produced which anecdotally has many health benefits. To understand why MMS works one must understand some of the chemistry of chlorine Dioxide and some of the chemistry of blood. Chlorine dioxide is a gas that is dissolved in water when in the body. Chlorine and a chlorine dioxide have been used as disinfectants for more than a hundred years and there is little doubt that they simply destroy pathogens of all kinds. Both have been used in water purification systems for more than 50 years. In recent years, in water purification systems chlorine has been used less and chlorine dioxide a great deal more as it has many benefits over chlorine. If your privately intended use for MMS is to activate it in accordance with Jim Humbles protocol, it is advised you read Jim Humbles book and/or study various third party resources which are made available here for your convenience. http://www.mms-health.com/about_mms.php http://mmsdetox.com/ http://mms-articles.com/stopcoughing.htm > > > > Tommy, I have heard of several people getting sick with their lungs while dealing with this skin mess. Guest guest
Dear Tommy, I have been taking Colostrum and it seems to bring immune system up to a fighting level. Perhaps this will help you get thru this (ask your doctor if o.k. to take, especially with any other meds you're taking now). I have a history of respiratory infections and have not had any problems for quite sometime. I also think it's helped in our battle with these things simply by improving the immune system. I take Symbiotics Colostrum Plus capsules - they are hormone, pesticide and antiobiotic-free). And then when you get well, as Rush & Marie suggested, check into getting pneumonia shot. Guest guest
Interesting . . . there may be a correlation between our lung infections and the mite infestation. This was discussed a year or so ago as well. I know someone who almost died from the flu shot. After it, he was unable to work for a full year. Even after a year he could work only 3 days a week. About 1 1/2 years Ago I got the flu shot, and that same day felt Like my lungs were filling up with fluid. Had Chronic and sometimes severe cough for Over a year after that. Cough is much better Now. I'm not sure if there was a correlation Between flu shot or maybe beginning of Infestation. I think one of the causes could have been mites/fungus. Pollution may be another. I never had an x-ray, so I am not sure if it was chronic bronchitis but it probably was. I rarely go to doctors for my problems, but probably should more often - except for the mites because I will likely be called delusional. I got rid of those lung problems a number of ways, including a natural product called respiractin (http://www.respirac tin.com/). I tried asthma inhalers (prescribed by a doctor), but they didn't help. That person said that it had literally saved their life. I would think the MMS would work as well. Laz>> Tommy, I have heard of several people getting sick with their lungs while dealing with this skin mess. I think there maybe some type of relationship between the two. I hope you feel better soon. You're in my prayers. Rita> > pneumonia> > > Hi guys I was wondering if any one else has gotten pneumonia since there symptoms have started? Guest guest
Tommy. I am surprised they gave you Z-pakFor pneumonia. From what I remember thatIs a fairly weak antibiotic. If you don't feelBetter you should page your doc and have himCall something stronger in.
