Guest guest
Dear Barb, I'm so sorry that it took the bad news about your friend to hear from you again. I know how involved you are with CML in France and like you, I never thought I would ever utter the words, I am glad I have CML. At least we have some treatments that are working for the majority, some moreso than others. It is always a source of great joy when someone proclaims their latest triumph of PCRU. This is a position not easily taken, but in lieu of the number of drugs available to CML patients, we are lucky, indeed. It certainly is appropriate to discuss other types of cancer, especially since several of our members have secondary cancers. We cannot ignore the fact that it is occurring more often than we think. Our group is a small population compared to world wide stats and it is happening everywhere in our CML community. Sometimes I think the information is deliberitely withheld from us, but we need to be aware of it. Last week I posted some information on data that was collected in Switzerland and there is recorded data that after being on Gleevec for 2 years, that is a crucial time. I know you are doing quite well with Gleevec and cooperated in the Spirit trial for a while. I hope Dr. Nicolini is still doing CML research and keeping you informed. Your vacation cards and pictures are always appreciated. xoxox to you and yours, Lottie
