Guest guest
Hello everyone, I don't post much but like to read to keep up on new developments. Has anyone ever heard of someone on Gleevec developing Rhabdomyolysis? I was hospitalized for a few days with it. I take 600 mg of Gleevec a day and have been doing well with just some swelling around the eyes and some fatigue. I have been PCR undetectable for about 2 years now. I developed severe pain in the muscles of my legs which made it almost impossible to walk. At the same time I developed a migraine headache and took something for that called Maxalt, which I had never taken before. I then had some kind of episode like a seizure. My husband took me to the hospital and my bloodwork came back with high CPK enzyme, which sometimes indicates a heart attack. CPK enzyme in the blood indicates muscle damage, my heart was fine, so I'm sure it was the muscles in my legs that was causing it. They didn't figure out what happened, but my CPK started going down and they sent me home. My legs are feeling much better now. I see my oncologist tomorrow, so I'll see what he says. Just thought I'd ask if anyone else on Gleevec has had this? Thanks for all the good info. Kathy
