Guest guest
Not only is it ugly but it is unwarranted and disrespectful to the group. Guest guest
> > Hi Bee, > Just saw my natural dr and got my blood tests. As I expected my cholesterol is high at 277 with LDL at 205. This is okay--right? I think I read somewhere that your cholesterol will go up on this diet due to the die-off of candida and the healing process. My dr was a little concerned, but she knows I'm kind of a rebel where my health is concerned. It seems a little scary to me, but not too much because I know cholesterol is really our friend. +++Hi Leesa. Yes it is correct that while your body is detoxifying your cholesterol levels will increase. Your body creates more cholesterol in order to clear out toxins. Cholesterol levels are not an indication of any kind of poor health, like heart disease, while tryglyceride levels ARE. Tryglycerides are a kind of cholesterol which are created by your body from carbs/glucose. +++Your tryglycerides should be a lot lower than previously on this program - so find out what they were. > > My liver enzymes are elevated. Is this also due to the die-off and healing process? The last time they were elevated was 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with lupus. My dr suggested I take silymarin to help clear out my liver. Would this be all right? I told her that I had been doing coffee enemas--she was okay with that. I have not been able to do them as regularly as I would like. I've never been able to hold a full 12 minutes like the directions say. Is that a problem? Sometimes I can go 10 minutes, generally less though. I do dry brushing and deep breathing every day. +++Your liver enzymes are increased because it has to handle more toxins, so it is part of the die-off, detoxifying and healing processes. +++You can take silymarin or milk thistle as a tea, and drink 2 cups per day for a week, stop for 3 days, and continue for another week, and so on, but don't take it much longer than 2 months. +++The coffee enema still helps you even if you cannot hold it, so do not be concerned. > > My white blood cell and neutrophils are low also. This was happening at the time of lupus diagnosis, too. Is this another sign of the healing process. +++During natural healing your body will " retrace " all of the symptoms related to the lupus. > > I have a number of lupus sores on my face, chest and shoulders. My dr recommended trying tea tree oil or oregano oil diluted with witch hazel on the spots--not for the purpose of closing off the escape route of toxins, but to help with the general healing of the skin. I told her I had been using Vit E and cod liver oil. +++Vitamin E and cod liver oil are much better than the oils diluted in witch hazel. Witch hazel dries out the skin and removes natural oils. > > Last thing, my T3 was low, so she wanted me to increase my Armour thyroid--which I've had to go to a compounded Armour. My triglyceride level is 76. My dr did not say anything about this result. Last year my triglyceride level was 34 and 28 in 2007. Last year she mentioned that the level at 34 was kind of low and would be good for it to come up. Is 76 too high? Prior to this diet, I had been eating a Weston A Price diet for about 4 years. At those times I was trying to figure out what worked best for me based on information I had read. My dr now wants me to raise it to 90mg/day from 60mg. The capsules should be coming in 30mg so that I can take at different times of the day, and also cut back if I feel myself becoming too " revved up " which describes how I feel when I am getting too much thyroid hormone. " They " say tryglycerides under 150 are good, so your levels have been okay for a long time. +++My triglycerides have been less than 20 for many years, so I cannot understand why your doctor believes they should be higher. You need to stay at one dose consistently between tests so your test results will accurately reflect your dose. +++Since you've had Hashimoto's for 12 years, after you've been on this program for 12 years your thyroid should recover. You don't want to be taking thyroid meds when your thyroid is recovering, so start getting thyroid tests done every month to 6 weeks after you've been on my program for 9 months - starting around April 2010. I can't explain why it went up, but 76 is much too low to be concerned about. It could have gone up because of changes taking place throughout your body. Guest guest
So let me catch up here you were doing T shots and added Arimidex and your TT went up 200 points to 900. Then you missed one shot and now you fell down to 217. Your not a problem you missed you T shot levels fall fast a week after your shot then add a week with no shot and you get what you have. Lower levels if your Secondary meaning your Pituitary is bad add in HCG do about 250 IU's the 2 days each before your next T shot this helps keep your Testis working and your levels up. If your Estradiol levels are still high you did not test them your not going to feel better at all. Higher Estradiol levels hold you back from feeling better. As for your Hematocrit being high if you don't drink water about 3 big glass's before your labs this will look high. Here is what I would do if I were you get on some HCG do your shots of T every 3 days about 50 to 60 mgs each time and the day before your next shot do 250 IU's of HCG and keep your Estradiol down in the sweet spot at about 20 pg/ml or when your having good night time and morning wood. Keep this up for 8 weeks then do labs again see if your labs are better. Once you get time up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range and keep them there little by little you will start to feel better. As for your 24hr. urine test for Cortisol only tells me you could be low not using any of it. But the only way to tell is to do a 4x's in a day Saliva test there is one you can buy your self in this link. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ In this link are the stages of Adrenal Fatigue read them they are the results of Saliva testing. http://www.chronicfatigue.org/ASI%201%20.html Your having a Pituitary problem you need to check all your hormones and your ferritin with Iron levels. If your Thyroid is so so try going on a med you might feel better try doing this home test to tell if your Thyroid might be a problem. http://drbate.com/Ref/thyroid.html I have a lot of info about being Hypopituitary just let me know what you need to know about. Your not going to feel better over night. Go to Dr. 's site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG Update Dr. puts this out there free for you and your Dr. www.allthingsmale.com Also if your Dr. is at a loss as to what to do he will work with your Dr. over the phone to test and treat you try this. Guest guest
Phil: Thanks for the info. My estradiol levels were not tested, but based on the dosage I am taking I am getting solid night time and morning erections so I think I am good there. Will have it tested next time to confirm. I guess the thing that bothers me is that I don't feel anything from the shots anymore. I feel the same way back on them as I do when I missed the week. I am tired all the time. I am leaning towards the adrenal fatigue that you talked about. The other thing is that my current doctor is treating symptoms. Low Thyroid, give synthroid, low T give testosterone. She has done some testing to rule out things like a prolactinoma, but she has not done comprehensive testing to identify if this is a functional or non-function adenoma. She did order, and I just took, a HG suppression test and a glucose tolerance test. She also mentioned the cortisol saliva test as well, but hasn't ordered it yet. I will pick up the item you mentioned below and test it myself. It seems to me that the pituitary gland has a set of functions, and there are a range of tests to determine the state of those functions. She done some, but not all, and some results are inferred. I did electronics and software testing for years and you have to approach systems testing in a methodical fashion and I don't think she has done that. I did get an appointment with a pituitary specialist at Yale (one of his specialties is treating adults with Growth Hormone) and he has experience treating hypogonadal males. I am going to bring Dr. 's treatise with me and ask him to read it and also render an opinion on what he sees based on the results so far. You mention ferritin levels, and mine were low yet my serum iron was high. She had no answer for that and said we'll have to retest it because it must be a fluke. Yet it seems that as you point out, it is connected to the whole thing yet she was not up on it and didn't seem concerned. Thanks again for the info. I will order the kit and bring Dr. 's doc with me to this new doctor. Guest guest
Hi Joe You should be on desiccated thyroid for your low thyroid not synthroid. You can have high iron and low ferritin. If you are low in ferritin no matter what the iron level says you need to take iron. Half the problem with your thyroid could be low ferritin. You need a good ferritin level to make your thyroid meds work properly. If you think you have adrenal fatigue along with low ferritin. I would test reverse t3 and free t3. Guest guest
TRT can raise your hematocrit. I periodically donate blood to keep mine in the normal range. From: noonanjg <jgnoonan@...> Subject: Lab Results Date: Thursday, February 18, 2010, 2:08 AM  I tried to post this last night but it never showed up on the list. In any case, I went to my endo yesterday and got a lot of surprises. After missing just one shot, my T levels fell through the floor. My doctor was stunned at the results. I am also taking arimidex which had raised my T by over 200 points to 900 for total. Here are the results of the key tests: T Total 217 (250-1100) LOW T Free 52.6 (46-224) LOW NORMAL T BIOAV 101.3 (110-575) LOW SHBG 13 (9-45) THIS HASN " T CHANGE EVER! Albumin 4.2 (3.6-5.1) Normal IGF-1 244 (86-220) HIGH Cortisol Urine 59.5 (4.0-50) HIGH Creatinine Urine 4.01g (0.63-2.50) HIGH My hematocrit was also high, although barely. My doctor is at a loss at this point and want me to get another doctor to look at my case because she does not understand why I am still feeling fatigued. I don't even feel the T shots anymore. It's like getting injected with water. THe week I missed the shot felt the same as when I did have the shot. I am on 150mg a week! I am going to look for another doctor who has more experience in TRT and pituitary issues (I have an adenoma). She sent me today for a glucose tolerance test and a GH suppression test. The MRI also showed I had a tiny stroke, which I was not aware of. Any insight would be appreciated. She wants to retest T levels in 2 weeks once I've been getting the shots again (got one last week, will get one tomorrow).
