dear group members, I read several posts where DHEA was recommended

for battling fatigue and just feeling more energenic. well, I

bought a bottle - well, acutally 3 bottles on sale - anyways, I took

one 25 mg. tablet every day for one month....by week three, I

noticed a swelling in my legs mid-day, by week four the legs were

both swelling and my ankles looked like tennis balls! edema, that is

what the doctor tells me. he gave me a stern lecture on the dangers

of using herbs and told me to throw the bottles away. sure enough,

two days without the DHEA and my legs and ankles are back to

normal. as I have often read here in group posts, what works for

one may not work for all. gentle hugs, marcia

Essentially there is nothing wrong with taking herbal remedies in the recommended doses. The problem though is since we are on such high-powered prescription medication the herbs may interact and cause problems like you had. And NEVER take herbs in place of your prescription meds.
