Guest guest
Caremark and the other legitimate mail order pharmacies are breaking no law. They dispense the medication to whom they were prescribed. My sending meds to another individuale may be unlawful. Guest guest
Laws... shlaws , who gives a damn!!If someone needs HIV meds and I have extra, I will be glad to help him, and let the law bite me From: Jim98122x <jim98122x@...>Subject: Re: Spare Meds? Date: Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 11:54 PMNo, there isn't any law against mailing HIV drugs. If there is, somebody better tell Caremark-- because they send me 90-day prescriptions of Norvir, Prezista, Intelence, Isentress, and Truvada all the time.> > > I would like to suggest, that anyone needing spare meds> > may get a better response, if the included a city and state> > location...> > And I would like to ask, if there are any state laws, that> > make it illegal to send meds thru the mail....> > > > From: Angel pozzinni <Angel_poz@...>> > " " < > > > Sent: Wednesday, February 15, 2012 1:53 PM> > Subject: Re: Spare Meds?> > > > > > > > Any luck k?.. i am going on 3 weeks now without meds. Guest guest
I second that ....if someone I know needs meds and I have extras I will mail it to them. Hardly like you are sending illegal drugs to begin with and who the hell wants HIV meds unless you need them? There are a variety of reasons why someone would be dropped from ADAP or in between insurances. It is not for us to judge but if we as a collective group can lend assistance to a poz brother or sister why wouldn't you? I have had the same done for me when there were issues with Medi-Cal and the ADAP approval process and my prescription couldn't be filled...it was nothing I had done, it was simply the " system " . Thank goodness a friend had a spare bottle of Truvada that he could no longer take.... If we turn our backs on each other then how can we complain about the treatment of people with HIV/AIDS?? Guest guest
I agree that we must, as a collective, help others with emergency meds if we can. As an update on my request: I now have access to my drugs, thanks for the assistance. I went a total of two weeks due to ADAP and my county-coverage paperwork battle of who will pay for work. Once my doctor got involved, the situation was resolved. Guest guest
I had something similar happen to me Fred about 2 years ago when California was having problem with getting a budget in place and it was AWFUL. I was pulling my hair out, thank God I had a friend with a spare bottle of Truvada and he put it in the U.S. mail to me. Normally my pharmacy sends my meds via a courier service but can only do it within California but really, if someone needed something I had I'd pop it in the mail pronto! So sometimes with insurances things happen beyond our control and depending on where you live you cannot always just walk into a organization and ask for extra pills.....that's why we need to rely on each other in here and not be questioned if we did or didn't do certain things. Either help or don't help but don't judge :-) So glad your Dr. got involved and got the ball rolling. What state do you live in? Guest guest
Without any notification my Medicaid was stopped and it's almost time to get my meds refilled. As some of you may know it takes time to get it re-established and I am hoping someone on the list may have some spare meds they could send me. I am on Reyataz, Truvada and Norvir. If anyone has spares they could send me please contact me directly. Thanks!
