We had our 1-week fitting yesterday. Our OT had to shave off part of the inside of 's helmet already....she said we're doing really well, that she doesn't often see noticeable changes after only one week.

I am so relieved to be progressing. Part of my worry about this whole thing was that it wouldn't change and she'd be in the band for many, many months. I'm hoping she continues this way and is out of it sooner rather than later.

She seems to be adjusting to it all right, but it certainly has disrupted her sleep patterns. She is refusing naps and won't go to bed until almost 10pm...needless to say, we're pretty tired. Any of you having trouble getting the kids to sleep?

Debbie,

Actually, yes. She is teething up a storm....3 at one time, poor kid. I forgot about the teeth. Maybe it isn't the band at all.

Kerri:

That's terrific you've seen improvement already and a shaving was in

order! WOW, Keep it up :)

Some babies do have a difficult time sleeping in their new band, but

they usually get used to it soon. Give her a bit more time -

hopefully she'll be sleeping well again soon!

Is she by any chance teething right now? That could possibly be a

cause of her sleep troubles. Maybe try a bit of infant tylenol and

see if that helps her sleep, it might help the pain of teething if

that's the problem?

Good luck.

That's great news to hear. How old is ? We're

still fighting with the insurance company on getting

my son to see someone.

Kerri,

Hooray for the improvement!!!! That is great news!!

It is pretty uncommon for babies to have trouble sleeping due to the band. It

has been known to happen, but it is something that they usually adjust to pretty

quickly if they need an adjustment period at all! Could there be another

underlying reason? Has she learned a new skill recently? Often times babies have

disrupted sleep patterns after they have learned a new skill. Also, they go

through periods of separation anxiety that can be very disruptive to their sleep

patterns. Could she possibly be teething? If there is no underlying cause then

perhaps she is simply having a harder time adjusting then most. That is

certainly a possibility. I think that given time she will be back to normal.

Good luck with that and Hooray on the good news!!!

Kerri,

Maybe a little baby tylenol and/or anbesol might help? Poor little thing!

cut her first teeth, got her helmet, learned to walk and got an ear

infection all in the same week. Hubby and I were exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kerri,

That's wonderful that is showing some improvement already!! If

she keeps up at this rate, she'll be done before you know it! Keep

up the great work!

I hope those mean teeth hurry up and stop bothering ! Hopefully

you'll all get a good night's sleep once they come in! Good luck!
