Opps, too late. After I posted this I picked up the mail and, low and behold, a letter from Cigna. The external review committe has upheld Cigna's decision to deny coverage, but I'M NOT DONE. They messed up enough in the letter that I think I've got them. Here's an example - they switched the babies. Sam is now Twin A. Wow, that's news to me. And all this time I thought Sara was twin A. I've already left a message for my contact at Cigna informing them that although I have exhausted all my appeals, I'm not through with them yet! Can you believe how inconsistent this company has been - pay, don't pay, pay, don't pay, pay, don't pay. Ok, just had to vent. Hubby was not sympathetic. He expected this all along. At least HR will step in on our behalf now. Nortel is a pretty big client for Cigna to lose right now....stand up, sit down, fight, fight, fight!

Plagio friendly dentist

We have the most awesome pediatric dentist, and this morning I got confirmation on why I have thought that all along. It was time for 's (Sam and Sara's big sis) checkup, so the whole family went along. The dentist was checking for TMJ, so I decided to ask her what she thinks about plagio and dental issues and if they are related. She definitely thinks so. I told her that Sam and Sara had been treated for plagio and that I am fighting the insurance company for reimbursement for their bands. She was so concerned that after she finished with , she put on a clean pair of gloves and checked the babies bites and jaw alignment. They are fine right now, which is why we proceeded to band them in the first place. She was well aware of the concept of intra-uterine constraint and that their head shape was a bit out of our control (at least until they were born). She was also disgusted that the insurance companies don't take a more preventative approach when approving or denying claims. Why is it that everyone besides Cigna can see that plagio is more than just a cosmetic issue? So now I am kicking myself you know where wishing that I had thought to take the babies to see her when this all began. I'm sure she would've written a letter. First thing Monday morning I am going to try to contact the External Review committee and see if I can still submit a letter from the dentist.

If anyone in or near Dallas wants the name of a plagio friendly dentist, just let me know. We think she's great.

You let them have it!!! The only way things will ever change is if enough people put up a fight for this to be covered. Insurance companies never want to lose money for anything so they will do anything they can to fight it. You should be commended for trying to fight for what is right!!!
