Hi Debbie,

His appt. was with a neurologist. It went well, he didn't see

anything wrong. Which is a relief. We'll just have to wait for the

MRI, so it's going to be a long 4 weeks! He'll also have to have

some more blood work done, to check muscle tone.

Thanks for asking,

Tina:

That's great news! Why did Chase see a neurologist opposed to a

neurosurgeon, if you don't mind me asking? Does he have some other

health concerns (sorry if you've already told us!? I hope all is ok

otherwise.

The MRI will be here before you know, I can't believe it's almost

September - I couldn't be any happier, I hate hot summers, fall is

my " happy time " as I say :) hehe.

Debbie,

Chase is also showing development delay in all areas, that's

why he saw the neurologist and that's why they're doing the MRI.

I know that's off the subject of this group. But I'm just curious as

to how many of the kids with plagio in this group have

development delays.

Where do you live? You ain't kidding about the summer. I live in

Arizona! We won't see fall till late October! Ugh!

Chase gets casted on Thursday for his helmet! Yeah!

Hi Tina,

I don't know if developmental delays have anything to do with plagio...

doesn't have developmental delays...he seems to be doing everything on time

or early. But that doesn't mean that the 2 aren't related somehow. I would

ask the dr if one has anything to do with the other. Does Chase have tort?

B/c if he does, i would think that might have somethign to do with it..but

i'm really not sure. Sorry i'm not more help.

Ok Tina:

Sorry to hear about his delays :( Abby is now 2.5 and not really

delayed in anything. I actually just called her ped. this afternoon

though to make an appt to discuss her speech delay. She does talk,

but not as much as I feel other 2.5 yr olds should speak. She has a

very hard time with certain sounds still " k's " ....etc, a lot of

people tell me not to worry, but I just want to nip this in the bud

before it could get any worse. Other than that, she crawled, walked,

etc early I suppose, she's considered a bit advanced with her motor

skills and coordination ( can already pump herself on the big swings,

HIGH, eeekk)...

Don't feel like you can't discuss Chase's delays becuz they're off

topic, a lot of other parents babies have also had delays, I'm sure

they'll give you good advice & tips.

Hi Tina,

is delayed too. She has delays in her fine motor skills and

her gross motor skills. In some areas she is 5 months behind. Which

to me is a lot for a child that is only a year old. She also has a

big problem with balance. Her PT doesn't think she is going to walk

for at least a few more months. She is ALWAYS on her tippy toes, she

won't put her feet flat down on the floor. I have to do exercises

with her, where I put my hands on her hips and push down so her feet

go flat down. She is receiving PT through EI. Please feel free to

post about your son's delays!!
