So were you in a sorority then? I have some frat memories..hehe. My high school sweetheart, first-love type thing, we started dating when he was a senior and I was a junior. Then when he graduated he went to U-Dub, and his first year he lived in the dorms, but his parents were pressuring him to join a fraternity because that's how they met (his dad was in a frat and his mom was in a sorority and they met at a party.) His mom never thought I was good enough for her son anyway, so it wasn't anything for her to say things like that right in front of me, kind of "You need to keep your options open," kind of thing. Then by the summer before his sophomore year, all I heard about was that he was going to start rushing for Alpha Tao Omega. He ended up getting in, and that was the beginning of the end for us. I guess it's one of those inevitable things that happen, but to this day I am convinced that our relationship could have survived had he not based his feelings and what he does on what his mommy wanted for him. Example, he wanted to be a chef. Parents wanted him to be an accountant. So what is his major at UW? Business, of course. So by the second month of his sophomore year, we were done. A couple years later we got together and had dinner just as friends. Sure enough he had met his parents' dream girl, a sorority girl, and the last I heard, they got married last year. But I went to a few of those frat parties...pretty crazy.

But all is well now. That was a long time ago. Now I have my , and I have inlaws that aren't stuck-up. In fact, just the opposite: My MIL is the biggest hippy in the world, and she was such a lousy wife and mother that she thinks I'm a Godsend to her son! HA!

Anyhow, I have nothing against fraternities and sororities, just some nasty memories of them! haha
