Guest guest
Many medicines have multiple effects. For example, aspirin is both a pain reliever and a blood thinner and can legitimately be used for either purpose without bothering to list all the other things it can be used for. A medicine may be both an antidepressant and a muscle relaxant and it seems to have worked as a muscle relaxant even though it could also work as an antidepressant. It sounds to me like the doctor was prescribing the medication for an effective and approved use even though ti can also be used for other purposes. I can't be sure whether the doctor acted correctly or not but I surely can't condemn the doctor based on what was told. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: snowdrift52003 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Monday, March 08, 2004 5:33 AM Subject: Re: Med info. from doctors > After a while the doctor gave me so-called muscle relaxants to help > me sleep as that was one way the depression manifested itself. In my short experience, I've noticed that the doctors I've seen really downplay side effects of medications; I'm grateful for the Internet because I feel I get much more balanced information. I like reading info. meant for physicians.Sierra
