What a sweetheart and it makes my teary eyed because that is how usually is. Hers isn't that extreme but it's close. We are just starting out and I know it's going to be a long road. I see all of your success stories and am so happy for you guys but sometimes I think I will never have one of my own to report. You are all a big source of encouragment to get things done for and this picture now proves to me what wonderful success you can have if you're just persistent. Congrats to you and for your hard work. It makes me really want to get things rolling. I am still waiting for a call about PT. I am getting very frustrated here.

OT: : Tort Before and After pics

I was looking through my downloads at home and came across these pictures of at around 2 months old. My heart sank remembering those days. I'm not even sure if this was right before his 2 month check up or right after, but certainly waiting for that nuero appt. to confirm muscular tort. You'll notice the severe degree of left tort he had :( In the picture, I was trying to prop his head straight so hard to just take this picture, I remember each time I propped his head (ok, with Winnie the Pooh! :) it would slowly spring back down to his shoulder. His ear looks like it is glued to his shoulder, but we could move it midline, it would just go right back. So, for those of you that are now lurking out there struggling with tort, and consequently physical therapy, repositioning and plagio, it was pictures like these that gave me hope when I started my journey, and I hope by sharing them, it will help some of you plug through yours and let you know that with your hard work, it will pay off, so hang in there! I wish I knew how to split screen these, so if anyone knows, please tell me how! I will send 3 pics, and send them seperate so they aren't a zip file. This will have the 1st pic attached.' Taryn,

Don't feel that way at all- that was my main reason for posting this, because I know about worry, a lot, and I always wanted a crystal ball that would tell me my baby was going to be fine. It took a lot of hard work, I will not kid you, daily stretches, massages, professional pt, etc.- but all things you can do on your own as we had to and will be fine. If she is not as bad as , that should make you feel even better about getting resolve. Give it time- tort should be monitored until 2 years of age anyway, so know that your in this journey for a long, but still relatively short time, and use that window of opportunity with being only 5 months to your advantage now- its so much harder to work on tort kids after they are more mobile. Good luck! Keep the faith!

Thank you so much, Beck. I had a meltdown today and just cried and cried. I have been pretty strong lately but sometimes I just can't get over it. I find myself not focusing on this beautiful little girl before me but a flat head, a strong tilt, and uneven eyes. Thanks for always being encouraging to me and the other scared mommies who are new to this!!!

Thanks, as always, for the kind words. It's just so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes and waiting and waiting for EI to call back to start therapy is just one of those times that gets me very upset. is definitely an inspiration to me and getting treated and through this.

Taryn,

I know that is exactly what your doing, because i did that too- I was consumed with tort/plagio and I ate, drank and slept with it looming overhead. That is why I wanted to post pics of , because I know it helped reassure me when I was going through it- to see kids that were doing just fine after hard work. Try not to let it consume you, but its also a positive worry, because its keeping you on your toes and making you learn as much as you can. Take it one day at a time, I wanted that crystal ball too, but hang in there, it will get easier!

Taryn,

Not sure if you have these links yet, but check into them, they have great pictures explaining how some exercises work, as well as a great way to carry the baby while still working on the tort. Good luck!

Thanks for the kind words...some days it's just hard to trudge up this hill. I know the end results are worth it but I guess I am impatient. I want things better now, you know? is definitely an inspiration to me and I know this will all be better one day. In the meantime, I appreciate each and every one of you for being here to listen and sharing ideas and information. I would be a nut case by now without you all.

I do have them and thank you for offering them. I was told about these almost as soon as I joined the tort group.
