Guest guest
Debbie, When does Abby turn 2? I went through this with just before the babies were born last year. I was huge and pregnant during a Dallas summer. I couldn't fight with her. I can't even tell you how many times I sat in my van with tinted windows, doors locked, air conditioner and radio blaring, while screamed and threw a fit about getting into her carseat. I always had a snack for me, and nothing for her until she calmly got into her seat and let me strap her in. There were several times that we sat for a good 20 minutes before she finally gave in. Don't worry. It's just a phase. got a new booster seat and we put it in a different spot in the car. Ever since then, she gladly gets in her seat. I don't look forward to this phase with Sam and Sara. I can already see them ganging up on me. Gail
Guest guest
Gail and Debbie, Zoe will be 3 in October, and we are just beginning to have car seat woes. I think it all began with the purchase of our new mini van (she was very confused that Mickey and "Minnie" weren't anywhere in sight... I finally figured out that she was thinking we got a "Minnie" van!). There are way too many seating options now, and she wants to sit on one of the seats where there isn't a car seat (and if I move the car seat, she just moves to another seat without a car seat). I have physically forced her to sit in her car seat several times... she's a skinny thing at just under 30 lbs and 38 inches tall, so it's not too hard for me to strong arm her. Glad to hear I'm not alone in the car seat struggles! Guest guest
LOL Thanks a bunch Gail! Abby is 2.5 already! We went thru this a few mos ago too but it was far worse!!!!!! Then she would through the worst tantrums in the car seat, oh it was horrible. Now she's simply being a stinker, getting mama's goat & she knows it. Now the only time she does it is in the morning (the worst time of course), otherwise it's rarely a battle. I was reading my " Raising your spirited child " book the other day (my bible!), it was talking about this very situation. All in all Abby is SO much better than she was 4 or 5 mos ago, but wow, I swear I had no idea kids could be such a challenge at times! I felt like such a fool, here i am the " adult " taking orders from my " child " ...LOL Debbie > Debbie, > When does Abby turn 2? I went through this with just before the babies were born last year. Guest guest
Hey, our problem began about the time we got our new van as well. Everything was ok after Sam and Sara were born because got moved to the back seat and we told her she was riding in the back of the bus. She loves school busses! When is Zoe's birthday? will be 3 on Oct. 7th. Sam and Sara will be 1 on Oct. 16th (boo hoo). Guest guest
Gail, Zoe will be 3 on October 11, and Cole will be 1 on Nov 20. I don't know how you have managed with twins only 2 years older than your first. I've felt overwhelmed having a single baby 25 months after Zoe! Too bad we don't live close to each other. Our kids are great ages to play together. And poor Zoe so rarely gets to play with little girls (all of our friends have boys). While she has a blast with the boys, it'd be nice for her to see some girls her age too. How has adjusted to Sam and ? I have been so impressed with Zoe. She entertains Cole so well and is a great big sister. We do have our moments of jealousy, but it has been smoother than I expected. Kia P.S. Zoe loves to sit in the back seat of the van, but struggles to sit next to her car seat instead of in it! -----Original Message-----From: Gail [mailto:momofivftwins@...]Sent: Tuesday, August 27, 2002 3:50 PMPlagiocephaly Subject: Re: Debbie - carseats Hey, our problem began about the time we got our new van as well.
